After that we only had Ox to sell for 35 m. We haven’t sold any player above 40 mil yet. But the frequency of selling around 35 m is improving because of Mikel’s recruiting and tactics. Now opponents want our players instead of scoffing at our demands.

We only sell when the player is not good enough or (eg Smith Rowe, Nelson) they want 1st team football which we can't offer. Those sort of players are not going to sell for more than £40m. Thank God we don't have any sales above £40m because if we did it would mean we are losing our better players. Transfer fees have gone through the roof in the last few years. The likes of Anelka, Fabregas, Overmars, Henry, Van Persie and Alexis Sanchez would go for a lot more than £40m these days but none of those sold for much more than £30m. Those squad players are/were not useless. There's a difference between useless and not good enough for Arsenal. A lot of money has been spent recently on improving the team and squad. That money wasn't available to Wenger for a long while after we built the new stadium.
