How di you test flame sensor? Glad you got yours working, but more information would help others test and identify possible failure points

Hello. I looked up a video on possible starting issues. The blower turning on, firing up and turning off 3 times over a few minutes was an indication that the flame sensor was out. The sensor was no good so it was not telling the system the flame was on. The system would shut everything back off to avoid gas build up even though it was actually lighting. You can tell if it’s lit by seeing fire in the small glass window below the sensor or if heat is coming out from the exhaust area on top. Please don’t touch that area it gets hot.

That's exactly what it's happening to our Hayward pool heater. Thanks for the explanation.

My 3 little screws are strolipped. How can I take it off?
@eloycastanedajr33673 ай бұрын
Hello. It’s just a thin piece of metal. More than likely the end of the screws is rounded off and not allowing the threads to grab… You can gently force a flat screwdriver or a fastener removal tool behind the screw head as you unscrew it. That should allow the threads to grab removing the screw.

There is exactly the same unit with the same error code. we replaced the gas valve , Ignitor, and flame sensor but are still getting the same error code.

I was told the main board causes all these problems also. Look for burn marks or loose connections. Might need to be replaced.

Just like a furnace you may get away with cleaning the steel rod of the flame sensor with steel wool .

I need someone to repair this problem When it’s on you smell carbon monoxide

Is the fuel igniting? Near the sensor is a 1” glass window. You can look in the chamber to see if it lites. If it does not you are probably smelling the gas.
