It is well known that angelic weapons are stronger than regular ones, so i find it difficult to believe that nobody would have attempted to fight back with one before. I think its possible that only angels are able to hurt other angels using these weapons, and perhaps Carmilla is also a fallen angel (similar colour palette to Vaggie).

@@beenisweenisiii3825 maybe there is a weak point in their armor, maybe its intent of the attacker of defending loved ones, maybe it's the quality of the weapon, maybe it's something more power than an angelic weapon. we simply don't know, and Carmilla Carmine didn't really how she did it at all. and a reminder people won't have that much of chance to test what works on exorcists, since they are rarely alone, can fly, are trained killing machines and have weapons which can ERASE YOUR soul, so regardless of the method of killing exorcists not many will try and would prefer to run away and hide.

Yes. The thing I realized is that even if we remove morality. Annual extermination is questionable at best and outright dangerous to angels at worst. Let's get one thing out of the way. Trying to weaken a place without actually controlling them always ends in a bad way. The annual extermination is very badly implemented. They basically kill lower sinners as shown in the pilot while overlords stay in their manors. Weaker sinners are not a threat to heaven considering that NO exterminators were killed up until this point. I can't imagine someone like Angel dust or Sir Penthious (I hope I didn't butcher the name) killing an exterminator. And the weaker sinners will almost certainly turn to Overlords for protection. Selling their souls. And souls are a currency and increases strength of the OVERLORDS that ARE a threat to heaven. Furthemore Annual Extermination forced the "Survival of the fittest" mentality boosting the Overlord's power as well. Competition breeds progress. And the fact that they drop their angelic weapons and sinners pick them up is even worse. And the most obvious thing. Annual extermination gives sinners that would normally never meet an angel experience in Angel's fighting style and their weaponry. For hell sake Carmilla Carmine can craft an angelic sniper rifle. And to top it all off an exterminator was killed by her. I doubt she would be able to kill an angel if it was the first annual extermination. And to sum things up not only the things I mentioned above but it antagonizes sinners against angels even more. While killing the weaker sinners who are undoubtedly more likely to seek redemption. So yeah. Long-term in my opinion irs a very shitty strategy.

Well, we knew from the start that Heaven was evil and corrupt, but this episode confirmed it. Sera and the exterminators cannot claim to stand for what is good and right when they clearly enjoy senseless, brutal murder, and they’ll gladly kick out one of their own for refusing to kill a child (I don’t care what anyone says, sinner or not, there is NOTHING a child could ever do to deserve brutal murder). It’s even worse considering that none of the Heavenborns know how souls become winners. There’s no set criteria, but it clearly isn’t based on rewarding the good souls, and punishing the bad ones. If a genocidal maniac like Adam can go to Heaven, but a child can be sent to Hell, then what’s to say that there aren’t more souls in the wrong places? The problem with using violence to try and quell a potential future uprising is that it instead adds fuel to the fire for that uprising. Nothing gets people ready to rebel quite like the threat of indiscriminate murder. To paraphrase the movie War Machine's COIN (Counter Insurgency) scene, 10-2=20. The more insurgents you kill, the more there will be. If you don't address the reasons for the uprising, you'll never see the end of it. In 1310, there was an uprising in the Venetian Republic. It was largely stopped due to weather and a well-thrown pot that hit one of the leaders square in the face. In the aftermath of the uprising, large, sweeping reforms were made to address the issues that were the source of said uprising, rather than just killing all parties involved and treating the problem as solved. Because of that, the Venetian Republic stood for more than four more centuries. When the American colonies began to express dissatisfaction with British rule, Great Britain's response was largely oppressive policies and violence that did nothing to address the complaints the colonies had. Granting the colonies a few seats in parliament would have gone a long way towards easing tensions. The Americans didn't originally want independence, but just better treatment, and when it became clear they wouldn't get it, revolution became the only solution. The problems began by 1764, and by 1776, the thirteen colonies had declared, fought for, and won their independence. In just twelve years, the problems reached critical mass and forced a change. A lot of it could have been prevented if the people in Great Britain had been willing to listen. When a regime can only think to solve problems with the barrel of a gun, then that regime is going to fall, sooner or later. The regimes that have longevity throughout history were the ones who recognized the problems and addressed them in a way other than murdering everyone who complained about the problem.

As I told a friend of mine, Some of those Sinners survive, and they tell of the cruelty Heaven inflicts, and the Hellborn, those that can 'get away'? They're pissed. They are getting attacked yearly and their 'only' home is basically under Heaven's thumb (with good reason, but- semantics). Hellborn can already get onto Earth, so their solution of 'preventing' another uprising, when they only attack the pride ring, is a moot point because all they're doing is antagonizing. If Charlie ends up getting killed, unlikely as it is, will make ANY member of the Hellborn feel like they could also be targeted, and everyone knows damn well that if they don't feel safe, especially the Hellborn Goetia and Sin's, will attack first. Given that this does take place after a lot of major events in abrahamic lore (the first and second fall, the flood, etc) I don't see Heaven winning that war.

I like how there’s no good or evil in this show between Angels and Demons. Charlie wants to redeem human souls from hell so they can join Heaven and escape the wrath of the extermination. Although her intentions are pure, some demons are a lost cause and cannot be redeemed. Emily wants to put an end to the extermination because demons are human souls just like the angels who made it into heaven but the reason for the extermination is just in case if Hell decides to rise up and take heaven by force which will lead to an all out war between Heaven and Hell. Between God and Satan (Not Lucifer) Charlie and Emily understand there are demons who are more pure than others and just because they committed atrocious acts when they were alive doesn’t mean they stay that way after they die but the higher ups don’t care about any of that because most demons believe there is no redemption after death so they remain that way until they are one day terminated.

The only valid reason for hell to attack is for the extermination date being moved to an earlier date than what was originally set. But other than that, hell has no reason to go after Heaven because great retaliation from Heaven's military would destroy most of Hell's forces seeing as not all of them possess weapons or the abilities necessary to kill an angel. It took an overlord to even kill a single angel, doubt the lower demons would be able to hold off just as long unless they are supplied angel-tipped weapons.

Yeah, it's weird, but I guess it fits the character (a pure angel who sees goodness in people)... Buuut I think she might also be refering to the hellborns, which normally wouldn't be killed but that one child might have been a hellborn (and this time Adam wants to leave no survivors, so who knows? He does whatever he wants and can blame their deaths on the gang wars of the sinners)... Meaning that they probably have kill innocent hellborns at some point. Or maybe it's referencing the fact that they have no idea who is innocent and who is not, because they have no idea what gets you into Heaven? After all, what if killing yourself sends you to Hell? You never did anything wrong, you just wanted to end your suffering. Why should you suffer eternal damnation for wanting to give back your mortal life? Noy only that, they cause post mortem corruption. Hell is like a prison, but they are putting people who commited low crimes with insane serial killers. In order to survive, the guys who did not that severe crimes are forced to "act though" or "become even bad guys" in order to survive... or, in this universe, sell their souls. So those kind of people were probably innocent enough (you can't choose where you are going to be born and what opportunities you will have)?

So where do angels fall on the Hell hierarchy? An Overlord can kill an angel, but the circumstances surrounding that are kinda foggy. Was the angel distracted? What kind of weapon was Carmilla using? And should we even consider this at all? Carmilla was defending her daughters and parents quite literally develop superpowers when their children are in danger. We also know that angel weapons can hurt angels as Lute used her own sword to maim Vaggie. Point is, with Alastor, Sir Pentius, and Vaggie, the Hotel should at least be reasonably defended. And of course we've seen Charlie almost go full Demon Princess on Valentino and the only reason he wasn't splattered across the studio is because Angel stopped her.
