It's easy to say "No X while here", but asking people to drop/stop doing something cold turkey is very, VERY difficult. So much so that not only can few people successfully do it, it's been deemed physically and psychologically harmful, period. ^Hence why therapists, and other mental/addict treatments of all kinds, etc are geared more around gradual adjustments, because that's much more likely to make something stick.
