Uuugh, been on HunsterVerse for a while now. People are friendly. I realise how easy the game is in a group for the first few hunter ranks; but if you try to solo it, it's a slog. Like I had to solo tigrex to get to HR3 (I think) and the massive damage combined with generally struggling with finding an opening to attack safely makes it hard. That was until I got the upgraded gunlance... The one before the silver rathalos upgrade with dragon element attack.. it has 391 damage or around 430~ with a gross mixture of rathian and rathalos armor drip from the 2 star quest. Still took me fuggin 38 minutes to solo. But gunlance stopped me drinking potions like friggin chugjug juice from Fortnite since I could actually defend myself while being able to attack enough. Didn't faint once either with my first attempt with gunlance ! HR3 is surprisingly easy to solo. I ran with maximum armorsphere plus horneteur drip for too long because the ear plugs where helpful for getting a monster to flinch while screaming like an edgy boi after being kicked in the nards. I'm still rocking my now hard armorsphere rathian/rathalos armor. I'm planning on getting horneteur drip U and high metal S to switch between as different sets depending on what I'm fighting. But I need doarascale for the helm for high metal and some electro sac for a complete set. This is the furthest I got playing the game in 15 years.

Largest issues of freedom unite is, being sometimes locked into the forward direction when you roll despite pointing the stick in a different position. It's killed me way too much... If some genius can fix this with a cwcheat patch... The game would be infinitely better. Bad hitboxes can be imitigated with 10 megapotion, 10 honey and potion to make more megapotion, and ten herb and blue mushroom to get more potion to gather honey to get up to 30 megapotion per quest. Then genprey fang and trap tool to make shock traps... Bomb material and flash bug for 15 flash bangs total... Large barrell, gunpowder and scatter fish for Upto 26 large barrel bomb plussy... Over preparing for a hard quest does pay it's time well since it can greatly reduce the games overall difficulty. When I played this game as a kid... I didn't know it could be scuffed to this amount. Like since learning combination recipes for a lot of stuff you find as a supply item, I have been able to bend the game to my will.

I remember playing the first MH that came on the PSP and preparing for a hard quest would have your inventory full, we had to think about what to bring (everything you said + the combo books to avoid failing the combine), I couldn't even gather a single thing before at least 5 minutes of fighting to empty my inventory of my combat items

how about you farm for melahoa g rank set and then farm ore in old volc and jungle for insects, after that get juggernaut as its one of the strongest hammers in the game and you only need to get blacksmith and then juggernaut.
