I know this sounds silly and delusional, but what I feel at this moment seems to be the only thing that matters. In moments like this, we dance with infinity.

My oldest of three dogs is going to sleep in less than a few hours today, and this song helps me a lot. I maintain the belief that after death, the matter that makes us up simply returns to the universe to form whatever may be next. I also sadly lost a pal of mine to Neurofibromatosis last week, but no one in my group got the news until Monday. So, it's been a bit of a rough time for me this week. I guess the big lesson I'm trying share is: We are all made of the same primordial stardust from the beginning of time, and we'll all return to the stars that made us one day.. It's funny how a person can space out and dream all day. Funny how we sometimes think of having control in another reality, some with powers, crushes included, impressing a certain friend group, tragic events that happen, saving everyone's life to a dance off. Crazy and wild things, But... Where do these ideas come from? Do we dream about a certain someone, your crush because you can't stop thinking about them and the fact of being with them? And having a grand time with them, or somthing crazy happening. Having powers because you feel as if that would help you gain something out of it. Impressing a friend group, doing something so crazy hoping you'll be in that group and have the best time for a long time. Tragic event saving everyone showing pride in something, or grief, hoping to feel something out of that space out. Wondering what would happen during that event. Saving everyone's life to a dance off.. hoping everyone would like you for doing that. Your popularity growing, everyone crying to you so you can feel everyone thinking your the hero. But then, you come back to reality... Just to see it's all a dream, and it won't happen. Because, it's just a space out. Then we get up and walk.. just to space-out again tomorrow.

I was having a hard time figuring out if I wanted to say anything, seeing the comments of good will between people here. It was scary deciding to be open. Sometimes I wanna float off into that infinity. I want to be alone there because for some indistinguishable amount of time, I would be free and I would get to see things that the rest of humanity never could. I mean, I have dreams, I have plans of changing the world. It’s what I think about most of the time. But I really wonder sometimes if I’d give that up to be adrift with no plans. I’ve been young and made mistakes that drove people away over and over. I always wanted to write my stories some day, and I know they’ll come out as a reflection of the life I’ve lived. Most days I grapple, wondering if I’m a good person or not. I resolved today that I am indeed the villain of my own story, but that I’m writing my own redemption arc. It gives me hope that I can still affect people for the better, because then maybe I’ll have an easier time living with myself. It weighs on me heavily to imagine what it’d take to become better, and I know I’ll find it in myself to do better someday. It’s so hard and I wish there was an easier way to live in peace. I wish I could be adrift alone with nobody to see me, and just live in awe of things that deserve to be seen. I wish I could end this with more hope, but this is something of a lament. I wish it were easier, but this is where I am, and I have to make it right. I owe it to people I didn’t mean to hurt, and I owe it to my younger self that had all kinds of honorable ambitions. I don’t know if I still have them, but they seem so silly now. I will do better. I have to do better. It’s all I can still do. That hope is so fragile, and the people it could still help are all that’s left driving me. I have to let go of who I was so that I can start living again for the people still depending on me. Someone that makes people hurt is not who I am, and it’s not who I’m going to be. The only choice still in my hands is to be who I wanna be right now. I do wanna drift alone, but I want more to live a good life. I love my people more than I hate who i was to the people that still hate me today.

You grab the flare, knowing what comes with shooting it. This is it. A deep breath, and the flare lights up the sky. You hear a noise and turn around quickly, to find yourself face to face with one of these beings. You understand quickly that it must have been watching you for a long time. “It is over”, it says. “I know”, you respond, your mouth dry and composure shaken. “I don’t consider myself like the rest of them, to be honest. Though I am one of them physically, I always felt different inside. Your world was beautiful, and although I had to help destroy it, I will never forget it. Humanity was unique. I am sad that it ends with you”, it says, emotionless. “I am ready”, you say, not wanting to prolong the situation and attempt to respond to what the being said. “For you, painless. Look out towards the valley. I wish you well in your journey through the universe.” Your composure returned, slightly, enough to turn back around and take one last look at it all. Taking a deep breath and closing your eyes, you feel the hand of the being against your back, a cold sensation filling your body, before darkness clouds your vision, and it ends.
