Build consultation would be worth it, I’d be interested. Been wanting to build my Cummins since I got it a year ago but don’t know which route to go. I feel like the cost is worth it 1. Cause of yalls knowledge 2. Time is money if you’re spending 30min to a hour on the phone it should be worth your time as well as the customer 3. It weeds out the people who just wanna yap and you’ll get with people that are serious about upgrades and what not rather than just wasting your time. A more reasonable cost for a half hour would be more ideal but if someone pays to waste your time at least you were compensated for the time you spent.

@ I don’t trust any performance shop just like others may not. A mf be quick to tell you what to spend your money on without any regard to reliability and have no “testing” they just going off what the internet says and when you blow your shit cause they recommended a shitty part because they “heard” it was good, been there before I’d rather pay someone who I’ve watched work on the same engine I have who has pushed the limits and knows what’s too much for the components. You get what you pay for, free doesn’t always mean good. $250 for 30 min is a bit high but if they charged a more reasonable amount it’d be worth it in my opinion. That’s just me though, I don’t know much about building a higher horsepower truck so yeah I’d pay for the knowledge of someone who does, I just do program and run CNCs, powdercoat and paint for a living, i know how to do all the maintenance on my vehicles and that’s about it

I think the build consultations would be worth it in the long run. Because there is so much snake oil in the industry, and so many different options. Being able to go to someone with ties in the industry day in day out that knows what’s out there that’s worth its weight vs not would be super beneficial in my opinion. Time is money and not having to spend hours researching, is worth it.

i believe the consultation idea is great. i know me personally i need a ton of help with building my truck. i have no idea what to look for or where to go for parts.

I can’t speak for every other shop, but from our experience we will have some people that will call and keep you on the phone for 45 minutes to an hour. Wanting parts quoted out, $50k+ estimates sent, all of the details on doing full truck builds. You will go back and forth all day and then at the end of the day you find out they don’t even own the truck, they just want advice in case they decide to buy one. You usually never hear from these people again. 5-10 of these a day it’s hard to get anything done. Nothing against these people, it’s just hard to run a business this way. The people that are serious will pay the fee. Time is money and they understand this!

Build Consultation good idea. Free, not the greatest idea because people will call jist to shoot the shit. Schedule 30 min consultation for however much you shop labor rate is for an hour. That will be your BS deterrent. If they use you for parts and services, the fee is refundable for "shop credit". If they do not, then you have doubled your labor rate for a phone call... Win Win for every except those that chose to not use your services completely
