Because Roy fought Toney, McClellan fought Nigel Benn….:someone who was never in Roy’s vocabulary. After the results of Benn-McClellan, Roy definitely didn’t seem to want any part of Benn.

@@boxingchief9543 Agreed. Roy knew Benn hit like a Mack truck, had durability, & never gave up in his fights. Roy always ignored Benn in favor of the local competition, which was good, but not great at that time (apart from Toney, who was Jones' one great win)

One of the issues with Roy was how he went from 175 of almost all muscles in September, Up to 199 (night of the fight) the following March, then back down to 175 by November and everyone thinks that was done naturally.
