It’s a swagger stick which is shorter than a pace stick used for pointing at stuff during instruction. Usually carried in the hand but under the arm

Sgt. Slaughter was so bad they would not have dared to shoot him in the triple T. That would have just made him mad.

Got this as a xmas present from a relative back in the day. In spite of all its shortcomings design-wise and being an outright plain vehicle, I have a soft spot for the Triple T because it was the very first toy I assembled by myself. Mom helped me with the stickers though.

His tank, to me personally as a kid, was the best vehicle inn the market! It's all I wanted, and I actually got it one Christmas! I played with the figure and the tank until they both literally fell apart! I was heartbroken when I had to finally throw them both away, because they were beyond saving! As an adult, the tank really reminds me of a Bobcat! Instead of cannons, it should have a plow on the front of it, and a enclosed roll cage! Should I ever be in the situation to acquire a Bobcat, I will most definitely be customizing it to look more like the Triple T! Thanks for sharing your videos with us!

Great review! I really enjoyed it, even more so because I am a BIG WRESTLING FAN... unlike others (cough... cough). There is one other REAL person, or REAL LIFE personality who was given a G.I. Joe figure... well, almost. Rocky Balboa was in the G.I. Joe comic & a prototype figure was made but because Sylvester Stallone signed off his likeness to make Rambo figures for Coleco, Hasbro had to halt the production of the Rocky Balboa G.I. Joe figures... & Big Boa was left without a nemesis.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this now because this is an old video, but each version of Sgt Slaughter do not come with the same baton, the first 3 versions actually have 3 unique batons.

I was and am a huge G.I. Joe and wrestling fan, but I never cared for the idea of Sgt. Slaughter being a Joe. It seemed forced. I don't know if I saw it as a cross-marketing ploy as a kid. All I know is I didn't care for it. I did order him though. Lol
@MrMayDX086 жыл бұрын
Ironically, in pro-wrestling, he was the head of the fictional Cobra Corps. Great review. I am a wrestling fan, and when I found out they were making an action figure for the Sarge, it was pretty exciting. The real-life Sarge was a big guy with a pot belly at the time these figures were released, so it was quite a contrast to see the superhero G.I. Joe Sarge with the actual wrestler. Plus in wrestling storyline, he turned against his country during the Iraq War in 1990,becoming an Iraqi sympathizer.

Maybe it's just because I'm Canadian, and we Canadians get a lot of variants in EVERYthing... but I only ever had the V2 version with triple T, and when I first seen the V1 version on the internets years ago, I thought that we Canadians got an alternate paint job to brush away all the American-ness of V1! My point is, my file card which was definitely cut off of a Triple T box, had the text from that original Mail Away card. I had those saved in a booklet thingy that is unfortunately long gone now... but mainly remember the line about "...cutting his teeth on a bogey wheel..." I did not understand the concept of "cutting teeth" or what a "Bogey Wheel" was. That's why those lines stand out so much. Maybe it was even just the bottom half that was changed, but regardless, we definitely had a unique file card for Sgt Slaughter in the Triple T here in Canada. Great video.... long time watcher, first time commenting!!! keep it up dude.

I had V2, but the o ring broke, and no one knew how to fix it, so my father used Plumbing pipe glue to fuse the torso and legs to the waist piece, which kind of ruined it for me as a kid! his heart was in the right place though! one of my top 5 favorite figures and vehicles! I, to this day Google how to build my own triple T tank!lol

There's been some controversy regarding whether Robert Remus the guy who portrayed/portrays Sgt Slaughter actually served in the Armed Services. Personally I don't think he did but at the same time I don't think it's relevant; he is from a generation of pro wrestlers who take maintaining kayfabe literally and seriously outside of the ring. And honestly, he makes the military look like a bunch of ass kicking hardasses, so in the end I don't think it matters.

HCC, thanks for this video! I purchased a box of GI Joe parts and pieces. I was able to complete several vehicles and a play set. One of which was this a-humm "tank" (bullocks) I already owned v2 of the Sarge, naturally I was ecstatic to get his push toy. It did not have the decals on it, and from the looks of it, never did. Do you know of a trusted website, in which I can purchase authentic or aftermarket decals?

God, I hated Slaughter! Ironically I loved the idea when he first came out in since I was into wrestling but then when I saw him in the cartoon it quickly wore off fast! They just made him too powerful and muscular. I mean these are supposed to be the best soldiers in the world and Slaughter makes them look like a bunch of wimps. That was a jump the shark moment for me ...quickly followed by Serpentor but the series as a whole was on a downward spiral at that point until the crash and burn of Cobra La. I didn't really follow the comics but the cartoon was just awful after his introduction.
