This was originally supposed to come with a repaint of the original Wild Bill, but with the same colour scheme as this Recondo, including black mustache. There was a prototype pictured in a catalogue somewhere. It's since been realised as a custom by several fans. Great review!

Had this as a kid. All I found left from it was Recondos Gun which I still have.

I had this one as a kid. I live in Belgium and I seem to remember the figure was called Wild Bill or "Wilde Willem" on the dutch file card. I remember this because my younger cousin couldn't pronounce the name right and called him "Willem de Willem". Neither of us had the dragon fly, so it must have been Recondo, renamed Willem

I also just found pictures of the european releases calling him Wild Bill on the box. So here, he took of his glasses and put on a different outfit. Kept his mustache though

I think instead of Recondo being packaged with the Tiger Fly, it should have been Flint. Flint was a helicopter pilot as his specialty.

Loved the Tiger Fly. Always wanted the Dragonfly, but I was a little younger and missed all the first run stuff. Wanted the Tiger Rat but never got it.

Wish you had mentioned the original proposed colors for Recondo. I'm guessing before he got relegated to the Tigerfly he had a different deco planned for the single carded release. He had a darker tab shirt with the tiger camo in black on his shirt and hat

I have seen some pretty good custom Lady Jaye's in Tiger Force colors over the years. I believe someone also did a Cover Girl in Slaughter's Marauders colors as well.

I'm glad they used Recondo instead of the 83 Wild Bill, excellent choice... Wild Bill is cool but Recondo has for a figure got a lot more going for him.

I always figured Tiger force,Slaughter's marauders,Sonic fighters,and Python patrol were all repaints because Battleforce 2000 with its all new sculpts sold poorly.it was only when the vehicles of Slaughter's marauders and Sky patrol 's figures did we see some new tooling added to the older molds .eventually we got all new things with the Ecowarriors figures and the D.E.F sub teams

Another great review! When I was a kid I always wanted a Dragonfly because it was very prominent in the comic and animation, but was never distributed in Spain. So, when I saw for the first time in the toy shop the Tiger Fly, I knew I had been given a chance. I never liked the Tiger Force color scheme, but I enjoyed the Tiger Fly as a kid a lot!

I can’t get behind Recondo as a pilot. His original file card was perfect. “ A jungle is like a single, gigantic, hostile organism. It can sense when you fear or hate it-and it is wholly without mercy. When Recondo steps into a jungle, it sings to him like a mother soothing a troubled child.” It doesn’t get much better than that.

What’s the point of Wild Bill, Ace, or any other pilot if every Joe can drive every vehicle? Only BF 2000 were unique vehicles with one specific operator (they were all prototypes) and yet these vehicles and their drivers were sold separately. Makes no sense.

Probably just the fact that Recondo wore a hat, similar to that which Wild Bill wore, was the reason to substitute him for Bill.

The file card definitely looks like it was written by a Hasbro executive who was just thinking the character must be “the best of the best of the best”, like with Sky Striker from the same sub-line. They even share the same text pattern of having a decent amount of exclamation points on the card info. It also looked like they weren’t aware that Recondo is an old pre-established character, judging from how most of the card info is new.

Likely didn't use Flint as the pilot because he was so popular a character. Easier to sell on peg. Where with a vehicle, the figure is nice but really just an extra. I, myself, always used TF Tripwire to fly my Tiger Fly.

So.... maybe swap some parts out and make the figure appearing to be Recondo be Tiger Force Wild Bill. Take the Burt Reynolds (Norm Version) attitude. When someone says "That's not Wild Bill" you say "Sure it is!"

The Dragonfly was one of my favorite vehicles and Recondo was a over the top figure. He had a cool hat and mustache. His rifle had that wrap. The original Joe's were so amazing. Thank you Commander!!!

TF Psych-Out wasn't released in the US. He, Blizzard, Hit & Run, Outback, and Sneak Peek were all UK/Europe releases.

I always felt Frostbite made no sense for Tiger Force he's an artic specialist and Tiger Force operates in deseerts I think.
