Great review and a really excellent looking jet at a fair price point. The only disappointment is that it didn't add anything from the original. I do like the Python Patrol pattern across their vehicles, though. It's too bad they couldn't have simply used that pattern consistently across the figures in the sub-team. Also, Python Patrol has 5 soldier types. That was a weird idea. I think a pilot would have been a smart addition. Wild Weasel in the same camo pattern could have looked really good, in my opinion. Major Bludd was another figure that hadn't really been used in quite a while at the time and would've made sense as a sub-team leader.

I tried to solve this problem by *pythonizing* one of my Cobra pilots. Hopefully I can make it to Joe Con this year, would be awesome to meet some of the GI Joe community. It is a bit disappointing about some of the organizational problems, but I can overlook that. GI Joe should be available to everyone and not just a select few.

They should have Pythonized the AVAC pilot and give him that vehicle. I've always thought that the AVAC pilots needed a job more than to just wait for the Terror Drome to be attacked and drink coffee. Great review.

I have this jet, though it's not an original. It's a reissue from 2009 sold at Target. I really like it, I think it looks better than the GI Joe Conquest.

Great review! I like this vehicle's design and color. I think they should've gave us a pilot with it like a repainted Strato-Viper or Wild Weasel figure.It was really too cool to sell without a pilot.

A solid reissue of an outstanding original design. Some different weapons or fins/canards would have been welcome and easy enough to incorporate, but this is still a great toy.

Great review! Wish I could make it to Joe con to meet you. Only Python Patrol figure that might work would be the Televiper. I think my son had all the Python patrol figures but they were customized so that any of the off colors (yellow) parts were replaced with ones that matched.

I'm very fond of the Python Patrol vehicle colors. Whatever I thought of some of the individual action figure colors, I thought that the vehicles looked gorgeous. Even the STUN, a vehicle I was really meh about originally, I thought looked world's better with the snakeskin pattern. But the Conquest was my favorite as well, the paint job pushing it just ahead of the original X-30 IMHO. As far as the figures in Python Patrol, I tend to agree that the Python Crimson Guard was the weakest. The Python Trooper was okay. Good colors, But not laid out very well. Python Copperhead was middle of the road, nice, since I liked the green and yellow cross pattern, and he probably had the most of it. But the yellow panties... But I really liked the Python Viper, the Python Officer and Python Tele-Viper. Anyway, excellent review, thank you.

I think that the pilot of the Cobra condor and maybe the gyro-viper, he never looked liked a helicopter pilot to me. I love this toy 86 or 89 GIJoe or Cobra. I need more than just a 25th anny Rattler, it's my only air craft for either side. Love GIJoe my friend. ,😁😁😁

Love it! Movie magic at its finest! The rear yellow outlet for the engines is probably just an engine diffuser of some kind. You can see the rear part of the actual jet engine under the rear cover. Conquest is a really good vehicle. The X in front of the designation stands for experimental. The US Government does not sell experimental aircraft to other countries. It would have been cooler if Larry Hama listed it as a F/A-130 at the sale. I wish Hasbro would have made MiG variants as part of Cobra's air forces. Maybe too close to actual aggressor aircraft our boys were facing at the end of the Cold War. More than likely a MiG variant would have been more readily available and the Soviet Union was always selling used aircraft and equipment. Destro, being of European descent, with facilities in Eastern Europe, he would have relied heavily on Warsaw Pact suppliers, hence the Dragunov sniper rifles with Cobra soldiers. Missed opportunities. Great and fun review. I know, I know, my brain always goes down these rabbit holes when I watch your videos.

Actually, each one of those criss cross slats absorbs the electro-magnetic spectrum directly. Ergo, since each slat faces you regardless of how the person turns, their image is excised from your P. O.V.- Pythonization explained. 😉

the sleeve showing concept was brilliant ha, ha! pythonize me!!! I ll infiltrate Hasbro, and finally manage the new Joe line... G.I. Joe 2000. excellent review as always, the conquest is easily the best part of the whole patrol. I never bought them though, while the stealth ability concept was appealing, the team roster was a mess, and 'stealing' the opponent concept was poorly executed... why was there not a story prior to this? a mini serie, a comic coop or something. just how much time of development the team had to prepare the fans - customers for such idea. the conquest was a Joe vehicle, was Hawk a traitor? he sold the concept to Cobra to buy his new yacht?... did Scarlet did it to finally buy an island for Snakes and her and start a family? did Clutch did it to get a mansion filled with chicks in bikinis? was there a special mission where Cobra stole the conquest with Zartan posing as some pilot? SOMETHING!!! I did nt bought it, that s all. as for the roster... Copper head? somebody here suggested Major Bludd, that s a much better one! just who can be as incompetent to chose Copperhead? a Barbie designer? a viper, ok, a trooper, ok, an officer, ok, but a crimson guard? euh, his life is disguise.... why does he ever need to be more stealthy for? the vehicles... the asp, ok, it can be useful, but towed by the stun? of all the choice by then, the stun? that killed it.... who thinks that this vehicle was ever good for.... a good trick to get up in rank in Cobra, is to get rid of competition, you find a suicide mission, and trick your way into using them to attack with a stun...there is no protection whatever... do make sure that they are expected in advance... stun your political rivals, and show ruthless command. that s a sure path to the darkest part of CC s heart, ha, ha! a good team would have to have; viper, bats, [with bazooka], trooper, and officer, leader; scrap iron. vehicles; hiss 2, asp [with added rockets], rattler. it could have included a boat, morey, phranha.any, really. that, I would have bought a lot. as for the color scheme, it was pretty cool. in conclusion, the patrol needed more than an add to sell, it needed an entire story - mission. with this move, Hasbro has lost fans and lots of money. their formula back then, was a flaw, as their current business model today. the complete 80 s Joe s success story - cash machine - passion, rests on 2 years of clever design, 82 - 83.... now, why is that? ...you had the base of 2 armed factions, almost complete. to have cool script, story, mission, play, you need; tanks, jeeps, transport, planes, boats, that s it. as a toy, and you the fan - customer, you need money, and time to army build. just how someone cannot make sure to keep this core base, and expect to last? who ever figured that a newcomer in this market might not want to get some 82 s figs in 83, 85, [Hawk, Duke were still there], 88, even 2018? not used, but brand new. think of justice league, without batman and superman... plenty of cartoons and comics to make you want them.... are you kidding? ah, there s no more civics sold at Honda, you ll have to get an Accord... too bad for your gas milage plan. you reduce your base consumer, it s a market base. python patrol had no chance of addressing this most important fatal Joe flaw. only by keeping batman and superman present could the justice league survive, without them, they were lost.... once again, good show Commander!

I have to correct you on one thing. The python conquest nemesis was not the G.I. Joe phantom X 19. If you look at the phantom X 19 and they kill marks on it. They are markings from the cobra condor Z 25. And if you look on the Z 25 the kill marks on it are of the phantom X 19. So what that means is the adversary for the X 19 was easy 25 not the python conquest.
