Caldors was an awesome Kmart like store in the Northeast in the 80 and early 90s. Them and Bradles were the place to get toys in the early 80s before Toys R Us came to my area in Connecticut. I haven't heard that name in along time, you just brought back a lot of nostalgia for me, thx

Sgt. Slaughter did get appearances in the Marvel comic, but wore a uniform that looked more like an active duty Marine Drill Instructor (i.e., no tanktop or wrestling tights). His appearance was in G.I. Joe #49, where he 'accidentally' knocks out Zartan, disguised as Ripcord, while he was infiltrating G.I. Joe's PIT. He also appears in G.I. Joe and the Transformers #1, where he gives Bumblebee a parking ticket while the Autobot was spying on extra-large MacGuffin the Joes were guarding.

I apparently had a UK version of the Wolverine - I got it second-hand at a boot fair with no rescue cable and unboxed, just finding it among some random unwanted toys. My version was in the Action Force SAS colours - the main tank body and missile boxes were in black, the tracks, turret base and (weirdly) the engine cover and tow-hook panel were in grey and there were a couple of decals on there which included the yellow SAS badge. I knew Cover Girl came with *a* tank in the G.I. Joe range, but since the Wolverine was never sold in the UK I had never *seen* it until this review... weird to think I basically had a recoloured version of it without even realising it!

The camo paint on these vehicles looks really cool. The color scheme on the figures would be awesome as well if they removed, or at least greatly toned down, that baby blue. Always liked how they subteams made a set of figures and vehicles look like a proper unit as opposed to the mix and match aesthetic we got with the rest of the line.

I think the closest the comics came to have a Slaughter's Marauders team-up was when Mutt & Spirit Iron-Knife visited a town called Millville, U.S.A., which was taken over by Cobra. As for next week... "Egypt was troubled by the horrible asp... Yeah yeah yeah yeah" (written by Michael Stipe, not me)

as usual, I agree with your review. 1 not enough tanks! 2 they should have done a new cover girl with longer hair like Spirit. 3 no cover on the driver hole is madness. I liked best the 1 rst sarge in the mail away, so, I never bought any other version. while I liked the marauders s vehicles, I had no intention to buy any of the figs. the wolverine s green is the color I d like on most Joes s vehicles. the sarge is the one who found bin laden, that s why you ll never see the body.... you know the type...d. good show Commander!

Concerning the tow cable- I wouldn't say they shrink over time, but rather harden to the point of being brittle... When released, they were just as short, but were soft enough to stretch onto both tabs... As the years pass, they become more rigid, and are unable to connect as they should, without breaking... As always, great review!!! Thanks for doing what you do.... :)

My idea of who should drive this suffers from "but they never made that" syndrome. The blue suited DiC version of Lady Jaye. Well, they didn't make it at the time. There WAS a convention exclusive in 2013, but it was classified as Night Force. The version 2 LJ from 1997 would also fit in either SM or NF.

I’ve heard recently that Sarge was never a Marine but he refused to break his wrestling character. He gets flack for stolen valor, but he was a pro wrestler. I mean Undertaker wasn’t an undertaker and the Iron Sheik was from Detroit

we had caldors where i lived (several) actually..a place worth checking out for kids toys. it was very similar to something like kmart or kohl's. while i never thought they had the same selection as other places and oddly completely lacked videogaming electronics..the great thing about them is that they would have end of year/seasonal clearance sales all the time. while i agree with u that the lynx is nothing but top tier...i do like the original wolverine ALOT more. The lynx's cannon is a bit too long for my liking and not having a seat for a cannon operator given its size is a missed opportunity in my book! I dun know about u, but in my play sessions wolverine's missiles struck quite a many HISS and asps! Sure...maybe cover girl wasn't beefy enough to reload the missile system by herself...but some sexy eyes at gung ho and roadblock solved that problem quick!

Okay hoody here are a few tips for you to help clean your joe vehicles before your review shoots. Get an air can ( the kind you use to blow away dust and debris on the old PC keyboards). And get wipes. They work very well. Your reviews are amazing and awesome but the dust on your vehicles... not so much lol. It’s like bringing a dirty show car to a car show. No disrespect, just my (extremely small) tip to help make the hoody reviews and channel better. Other than that you are ACES!

From the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Slaughter had success in the National Wrestling Alliance, American Wrestling Association, and the World Wrestling Federation. ... The gimmick of Sgt. Slaughter is that of a former U.S. Marine who fought in the Vietnam War. Remus himself never served in the military

Great review. I enjoyed it. Not a fan of the vehicle. The main gun would have to be loaded, and where are the 40-55 rounds of depleted uranium stored? The rounds are armor piercing. The (depleted uranium) but not explosive. The MBT M1 variants have a driver, gunner, and loader, IRL. A child could suspend disbelief and pretend another Joe is in the MBT Mauler, reloading, while the Lynx/Wolverine were manned by one individual. The Wolverine has 12, individually targeted, HE missiles. Sure, no chance for reload, but Joe's should not be fighting long engagements anyway. In addition, the camo pattern reminds me of Eastern Bloc colors, not something the US military would use on a vehicle. Just me. I am bringing these things up as you mentioned you liked the realism of the toys as a child, and appreciate it still. In addition, depending on the angle the main gun shoots, considering how much the lighter the Lynx (Wolverine chassis) is, compared to the Mauler, the vehicle may need that tow cable for the VAMP to pull it back onto its treads, lol. Love the channel.
@AceSWhyld6 жыл бұрын
Never cared for the Slaughter's Marauders camo. Too cheaply done, and the splash of blue kills it. If they were going to use camo, they should have used camo, or just left it out. As far as the Lynx, it's ok. Wolverine was a fav of mine and the cannon upgrade would have been good but it is too oversize for the rest of it. And the camo is terrible. A driver would have been nice. But I'll take the Wolverine and Covergirl anyday.
@TJ3476 жыл бұрын
It seems that GI Joe lost you with its futuristic vehicle designs and so forth as opposed to a more true to life approach. This is interesting, as just as many people seem to prefer the futuristic approach, which was part of the 3.75 inch line very early on. Can't make everybody happy, I guess. I do know that had Hasbro taken a more realistic approach, lots of the most popular vehicles and playsets would never have been made, so I suspect the line would've been cancelled that much earlier.

Sgt slaughter turning heel in wrestling was always odd to me. His wrestling and gijoe persona was an all american hero. Then he would later turn heel and support Iraq fatigues for his wrestling getup. How did kids at the time respond to that? (Kids that were fans of gijoe and wrestling)
@HCC7886 жыл бұрын
I wasn't a wrestling fan, so I only new Sgt. Slaughter from G.I. Joe. I did see him in his Iraq getup on TV one time and just thought wrestling was very strange.
@Dragonrider12276 жыл бұрын
I didn't follow wrestling as a kid. Only GI Joe so I remember being very confused when Sgt. Slaughter suddenly disappeared. I think it goes down in history as one of the STUPIDEST ideas the WWF ever came up with. Ruining a perfectly good character for cheap shock value.
@christianhafer98192 жыл бұрын
Eh, I just gind the reuse of parts lazy. It looks pretty cool, I guess, but the Slaughters Maurauders are lame repaints of existing figures, so if anything, I'd just put the original Low-Light in there, or Barbecue, or whomever.
