I loved the intro! This version of Low-light seem to be more of a sniper's "spotter" with the given equipment and submachine gun like weapon. I would call him "Bank shot" with the passion for shooting pool to explain his sharp vision and understanding of geometry.

Snipers usually operate as pairs, the actual sniper and a spotter. Perhaps you could imagine the v1 and 2 as Low and the v3 as Light, together being the team Low-Light? Maybe a bit of a stretch.

I always thought this Low-Light looked cool, and I liked his rifle...although when my Low-Light fell off a desk and landed on a hard tile floor the handle of his rifle literally broke off. I melted it back on and I still have it (and it's still in one piece!). I had never seen that happen to any other GI Joe rifle and/or gun.

I just picked up this guy. Very cool figure yet I can't accept it as a second version of the character. A missed opportunity to have a new character in GIJoe, I totally could see this version working in tandem with lowlight v1. Love the accessories

Great review! I'm not a fan of any of the Low-Light figure made after the original 1986 figure. The original figure looked like a realistic sniper with the night mission gear.

I always will have a soft spot for Low-Light. In JROTC I was Rifle Team captain and one of the other members of the team I'd been in school with my entire life used to call me Low-Light based on our years and years of love for GI Joe.

Good review. I had this one as a kids and he was usually right there manning one of the guns on the Battle Wagon. I was happy to see that is where my son puts him when he plays with the Joe's.

Great review! My son had all 3 versions, V3 he called Night Watch. In my son's GI Joe universe, he was Low Light v1 spotter. V2 was known as Dead Shot and was more of a jungle sniper.

Well, Night Fighter could be a perfect name for him, but maybe the reason for a different face and hair color are hinted in the filecard. The same asterisk explains the change in the serial number by a security risk so it's not a far stretch that he could have to change his features to protect his identity in the team. Snipers are huge target for terrorists groups and great rewards are normally available for information or even the killing of the sniper.

I think Low-Light was going through his Will Riker phase with this figure. I guess if a night specialist is going to grow a beard it makes some sense to dye it black and the hair on the head to match the beard. It will be interesting to see if HCC788 ever gets to the version of Ace that had a different first name and birthplace (think that was the copter version and changed back with the last vintage Ace).

A fun figure I only got into more recently thanks to the Joburg crew who love this figure. I liked how in 1991 we got some reprises of many favorite early characters but I didnt see this as truly Low Light when it was out so I didnt go for it back then.

Actually, their was a Cobra sniper called Black Out released in 2003. He is the brother of G.I. Joe member Barrel Roll and he played a part in the Image comic book series for a while. The action figure was pretty sweet, I must say and had some great accessories. Plus it was great for Cobra to have a character that was their designated sniper, rather than a faceless Cobra grunt.

This was the Low-Light I had. I always preferred the original outfit, but I like the idea that this character is actually someone else, perhaps a spotter for the real Low Light. This figure was pretty great, those teal straps could have been in olive green for better concealment, but still a great figure. For a code name, I like Blackout, or how about Red dot? Low Light was a character I'd like to get to know better in the comics. He seems like a silent brooding killer type, but I think that Special Missions issue where he doesn't kill his target (just knocks him out and takes his briefcase) makes him more interesting.

Well, when Low-Light grew to be comfortable with his teammates he quit wearing his Rodney Dangerfield mask. Also, that's not a flashlight version 3 is carrying, it's a meat tenderizer. He's also an excellent hunter and doesn't enjoy his steaks being too tough.

It's something between Uzi thing or MAC 10 but scope & suppressor is complete mistake if you use SMG as sniper role however suppressed SMG is good in night combat .

GI Joes first sniper is Scarlett. as she graduated Marine Sniper School right in her file card. the give away is that she has the same red rifle stock padding on her right shoulder, just as low-light. in fact I display her and low light together, her as the sniper and low light as the spotter
