Well, this was a bit disappointing and actually worrisome. Not because HCC788 is retiring and we won’t be receiving more of his great content (nothing lasts forever); however he seems so unhappy. This goodbye message didn’t seem like a retirement statement from a person who is happy of what they’ve accomplished and is looking forward to rest and a new chapter in life. This seems like he was almost forced to hang it up- as if his mental health is getting the best (worst) of him at this moment. Notice how he says others could do it better, but he did the best he could. Even when he speaks of the accomplishments of this channel and what it’s done for him personally- he never smiles. My heart really goes out to you Hoody. I hope in channel retirement you can afford more time towards your mental health and all things that bring you joy and fulfillment like you’ve provided to so many of us who tune into your content. You definitely deserve it!

I am not his personal friend but as someone who has followed his channel for a long time he has been through a lot over the years. I think he knows there are a lot of us that are keeping him our prayers/thoughts/well wishes. Its hard when you just can't do a project anymore. The day to day cycle of planning, writing (OMG keeping writing fresh is hard), filming, and video editing gets to you. Once the passion starts to bleed out of you it is hard. I wish HCC788 the best and there is always the chance that after a few years off, some rest, he will be walking through a store or something and see a GI Joe and the passion will come flooding back... or maybe some other project. Like so many of your fans HoodieCoCo my channel and I are here if you ever change your mind or have projects I can help with.

This feels rough to say as a grown man, but I was the downest and outest I've ever been when I first discovered your channel back around 2015-2016... They were an odd lifeline, a respite from a crapstorm, a weekly dose of cheerful nostalgia, something to look forward to... Shortly after when things got better for me, I was able to back you on patreon and have stayed with you ever since through ups and downs because I know how that is. So, thanks for dragging my butt through the muck and being a friendly voice of a shared interest. Be well and enjoy the private life. - Jay (you dubbed me "G.I.Jay" during the Starduster episode... Bryan, as a subscriber, I have to admit, I care more about Bryan, the man than Hoodie Coco. You've always been honest and truthful in your approach to things and that honesty is priceless. We as human beings go through things in our time here and we can certainly chalk that all up to being a part of life, but I hope and pray you're doing well and that you're happy with where you are in your journey. You've become a household name, face and person in our lives and we appreciate the lift you gave SO many of us. There were times, I was down and feeling a certain way and I put on a video or 2 of yours and I was deeply encouraged. Thank you for your encouragement, enthusiasm, all the laughs, all the memories and, most of all, your friendship with each of us. You've done more for this community than you know and you are appreciated and will be prayed for and thought of often. Thank you HCC788, thank you Hoodie Coco, but most of all, thank you Bryan for all you've done for so many around the globe.
