One of my favorite figures of all time. Glad I got a mint complete of him.

One of the best thought out and designed Cobra troops, so much so that it'd be quite easy to adapt for a live action movie, if they even make a decent adaptation, that is...

I was a big fan of this figure when he came out. Paired really great with the Ice Viper, Storm Shadow and Firefly for Arctic missions.

The 1985 version Snow Serpent is definitely one of my favorite GI Joe figures. It is very well designed, the helmet is perfect, the assault rifle looks more like Finnish Valmet M62/M76 which goes hand in hand with winter/polar theater of war. Other renditions of the Snow Serpent are just the pale copy of the original, with the exception of the v2 which has its appeal.

Great review of a great figure. At this point, the kids whom were able to buy the OG13 were still into the line. The designers still had a love for the line, and were not being influenced by the lack of a cartoon or the politics of Desert Storm. We had just really gotten involved in Iran Contra conflict, and kids and parents were still showing the line love. Vehicles were still great, and new molds were being created, with love and passion, for figures and vehicles! Thanks for letting us share your passion. Yo Joe!

Dang. I had one as a kid, played with him a LOT for many years, great figure. Although... I had NO idea you could fit the mortar on the back pack! I somehow feel I missed out!

Being from Iowa, yeah we know snow and we know the Snow Serpent. Part of the fun thing about living in cold snowy environment during the winter is after a driveway or a lot got plowed there'd be a large mound of snow in the backlots which us kids would play in and I remember playing with my Snow Serpent on more than a few occasions, pretending it was a mountain. We'd burrow out small caves for figures and vehicles, I seem to remember one time we played a variation of the crystals of death from the MASS device mini series. I actually had Snow Serpent and 2 Snow Cats(Grandma got me second snow cat for Christmas) and we played until the street lights started to come on. It was good times.

Great review from your early days, @hcc788. Watching this made me realize I really miss the curtain calls at the end of your reviews. My wife and I used to enjoy seeing all the figures that appeared in the review take their bow at the end.

Awesome HCC! You nailed it. He deserves a spot in Cobra month for sure, or should I say "they". They're probably the first ones I bought spares of, along with the BATs. The uniform was quite a stroke of brilliance. It was very utilitarian, but also a vestige of a yeti - like monster with the furred gauntlets. The AK-47 is a great touch, being one of the most versatile weapons for multiple climates. Great show, brother.

Snow Serpents I love those guys! Them and the Desert Scorpions. I've always been a fan of environmental specific troopers. I actually liked the Heli Vipers sure the colors are a bit weird but they are perfect for piloting the Fang II and Cobra Mamba flight pods.

Chris Michalec Thank you! I try not to ruin the surprise! This video was originally going to include a rant about something peculiar going on in the market for Snow Serpents, but I took it out. It bogged down the review and made it way, too long.

The Snow Serpent's missile doodad is more akin to a mortar launcher than anything else, and certainly a mortar would be a good anti-tank weapon.
@basher20 Жыл бұрын
seems to me it has a lot of influence from the British WW II era 2-inch airborne mortar or the Japanese type 89 Grenade discharger, aka the "knee mortar".
