Insect Glaive vs Fatalis Guide

I once saw a guy post a Fatalis S.O.S. flare, but he wasn't in the arena, and was waiting for three of us randoms to join him so that he could bring us back to the Gathering Hall, then prepare, start the four-player-scaled Fatalis hunt, and SOLO IT. He damn near ran out the clock, but by god, did he do it. Max-scaling Fatalis fell with three hunters never once stepping foot in the arena, TO AN INSECT GLAIVE.

i never got around to fatalis after his release years ago and with all the hype with wilds i decided it was time and figured glaive would be a good matchup, this video was everything and so much more to find, looks like there's way more i could have expected to learn about awesome guide, subbed! hope you'll be playing in wilds :)

Why do you use Vezirstag III Forz instead of Foliacath III Forz? I'm IG main but I did not know about kinsect much. I use Foliacath III Forz because it fast. Can you explain for me?

Foliacath was best in base World because of its speed, but that speed became a massive detriment in Iceborne because of the way drill works. You want a high power, low speed bug for high damage drills. With my bug fed and the head tenderized, a single DT into the head can do 95-105 damage per tick with 3-5 ticks, and that’s just with the bug. That means you can get over 500 damage in a single kinsect drill, not including the damage dealt by the glaive itself. The Vezirstag can make up 15-20% of your total damage if used properly with DT. You’re simply not going to get that kind of damage with the Foliacath.
