My daughter passed away from ALF caused by HSV-1. They never told me why she was bleeding through her mouth. This video helped me understand. They didn’t know the cause of her ALF till autopsy. Thank you

I wanna know something basic.... Is hepatic failure at the end of the line where pt needs a liver transplant? Or are "hepatic failure" and "hepatic impairment" interchangeable terms? Such a basic question that I can't find anywhere. I've found info on fulminant hepatic failure, but nothing about the basic definition of hepatic failure.
