Basically, Kahi was the one picking the trainee to be the new member but with this case she didn't even know they're adding Kaeun. She knew it when they had to rehearse this performance together. Also, Pledis basically promoted her as "Kahi's replacement" so I'm not surprise why Kahi wasn't the one introduce her in this. Made me wondering if Kaeun was hand picked by Kahi or not.

@@windlife Kaeun wasn't. It's kind of a known fact Pledis eventually started adding members to After School without Kahi's knowledge/approval. Lizzy, Eyoung and Kaeun were added by Pledis. Which eventually stressed Kahi out, leading to her withdrawal from the group. She didn't have an issue with the new members though. She recently confirmed it was because every time they added a new member, she'd have to rebuild the team's group dynamics. It was tiring her out. And Pledis wouldn't listen to Kahi's plead to stop adding new members so she decided to quit.

@@KpopLover4Ever May I please ask that is the said of that some members didn't respect Kahi as the leader correct? I don't really know about that.

@@ay3394 I think a lot of rumors about the group's internal issues has been taken out of context or spun out of proportion. On a TV show, a few years after her departure, Kahi revealed that the there was some tension between the older members (older as in joined earlier, not age) and the new additions to the group. Which is understandable, since no one would get along with another person right away, without building that bond first. Especially when it's a random newcomer to an already established group and team. Kahi had told Pledis about the internal conflict and wanted Pledis to do something about it. Which I assume is step up to resolve the issues and also stop adding new freaking members every comeback when the current ones already have issues with each other. Of course, they didn't listen. And as the leader, Kahi had to hold responsibility for the group, so she took charge of teaching and coaching the new members. Of course, we all know Kahi has high standards so she was typically strict with the new members. Which resulted in the newer members saying she was scary on variety shows. Kahi was hurt by these statements. At this point, the older members are pissed about the group's constant increase in members, meanwhile the new members are saying Kahi is a scary unnie. And she's like the only person who is trying to hold the group together without the help of the company or anyone else. On top of that, the company wants to add even more members, completely ignoring her pleads. She felt like she was alone in that situation. Some members were upset, other members were scared of her, the company won't listen to her. Basically no one was on her side. She felt like a loner; an outcast in that situation. With one thing toppled over the other, Kahi had too much weight on her shoulders. This stressed and tired Kahi out. Ultimately, she chose to leave the group, since no one was really understanding the hardships she was going through. PS: While it is true the members had some tension (at the time), I'm pretty sure they eventually resolved everything and built a nice bond. Cuz the members still keep in touch and are seen reuniting at gatherings on social media; even after certain members graduated/the group stopped being active as a group. For example: - Bekah and Eyoung hung out and posted a pic on instagram. This was long after Bekah had already graduated from the group (2015). - Members congratulated Kahi on her wedding news on social media. It was a congratulation message posted on Lizzy's instagram. The instagram post came with a pic of After School's dinner hang out that night and the members present were Lizzy herself, Raina, Nana, Jung Ah and Jooyeon. Note: Jung Ah and Jooyeon had already graduated by then, but were obviously close enough with the remaining members to have dinner with them. Kahi had also been out of the group for years by now but the remaining members obviously still care about her enough to want to post a congratulation message (2016). - Nana also congratulated Kahi on her wedding news with a selfie of herself and Kahi (2016). - Bekah was able to attend Kahi's wedding ceremony since it was held in Hawaii aka Bekah's hometown. By then, Bekah had already left the group for almost 5 years. Bekah has consistently kept in touch with Kahi and the After School members over the years (2016). - Kahi, Jung Ah, Jooyeon, Raina, Lizzy, Eyoung, Kaeun were all present at Nana's birthday party (2017). - Jungah and her husband hung out with Bekah (2018). - Jungah, Jooyeon, Raina, Nana gathered to celebrate Lizzy's birthday (2018). - Raina, Nana, Lizzy, Kaeun were in Jung Ah's wedding pictorial (2018). - Soyoung, Jooyeon, Raina, Nana, Lizzy, Eyoung, Kaeun were all present at Jung Ah's wedding ceremony (2018). - Jung Ah posted a message showing support for Kaeun (on instagram), as she was eliminated on the final episode of Produce 48 (2018). - Eyoung went to see Kahi's musical and she posted a selfie of them on instagram (2019). - And of course, recently, Kahi, Jung Ah, Jooyeon, Raina and Bekah reunited for MMTG. They performed Bang and Diva (2021). The are probably a lot more that I didn't even list here. But yall get the point. PS: The only member who hasn't been in any reunion or gathering is Uee. We can assume she isn't as close with the members. But for the most part, the After School members get along well. Despite having tension in the earlier days, bonds formed and relationships grew. I'm glad they were able to work things out and become the After School they are today. It would be untrue to say they had no conflicts at all, but also untrue to say they don't have a bond or good relationship. PS: TBH Soyoung being at Jung Ah's wedding was my biggest surprise. Since she left back in 2009 and there were no signs that she still kept in touch with any of the members.
