I remember monitoring communications on this line back in the mid to late 90’s. PBX phone patches were still in widespread use then. I remember one particular cranky old dispatcher who would mutter cuss words under his breath when MOW crews called him for track and time. I wish I had recorded it. It was classic.

Just found your channel and found this video to be very interesting and informative as you tell where it is and the direction of travel. I live and have all my life (So Far) 73 years in Cleburne Texas which is 30 miles south of Fort Worth Texas and on the main line on the old Santa Fe/now BNSF between Chicago and Galveston Texas. Really became a railfan about 15 years ago, but I had brothers, my dad, uncles and grandad all working for the ATSF in Cleburne in the past. Looking forward to seeing more videos, and your good work, Thanks

Awesome trains and spots!! I liked the Tier IV ET44C4's on some of those trains in the beginning!

Thank you!! I saw more trains that weekend than I knew what to do with! Ha. Most of the trains were headed up by GE units of some sort...mainly GEVOs.
@WhiteRiverRails9 жыл бұрын
+Locomotive Mike Yea, GEVOs are my favorite if you couldn't tell already lol
@MainTrack9 жыл бұрын
+BNSFguy 617 Ha...I was thinking they might be your favorite. I have always like GEVOs as well. As of late, I have been taking more of a liking to the brand-new SD70ACe units.

I remember chasing the TPW in 1983, and we chased the TPW all the way to ft. madison. the TPW would cross the river and yard at the ATSF in Iowa. got a shot with some TPW alcos there. some of the last ATSF F7s would be loaned out to finish out their lives on TPW. the ATSF actually owned the TPW for several years before they cut it loose. i have some ATSF on old TPW from 1985-6. TPW was an awesome rail line to chase and photo. I even caught the TPW on the logansport to columbus/pittsburg trains. sadly the logansport to columbus line is all but gone now.

How long are these trains?
@superdriver7773 жыл бұрын
Many are well over 1 mile long - I'm from the East coast and I've counted 100+ cars before near Hershey, PA, with each car being between 55' and 70' long. I wouldn't be surprised if most of these trains are at least that long.

What does intermodel mean
@MainTrack8 ай бұрын
Hello! Great question! Intermodal refers to trains which carry shipping containers (the boxes which look like truck trailers but without wheels of their own). These same containers can be transported by several modes…by ship, semi truck, or train.

Hi! For the sound, I use a Rode Video Mic mounted and plugged into my DSLR. Sometimes, I plug the Rode into my Zoom external recorder- depending on the situation.

How many trains per hour is here? Like 5?
@MissouriRails2 ай бұрын
Averages around 3, lulls here and there but then the next hour you'll have like 7

You got something wrong in the video. Walt Disney was born in Chicago not there he just moved there from Chicago as a kid.
@MainTrack9 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian! You are absolutely right! In the video, I mentioned Marceline was a boyhood home for Walt Disney. But, I can see how that might throw some people off. I went ahead and added a clarification note in the video- he was born in Chicago, but lived in Mareceline for part of his childhood.. I appreciate you watching, and for letting me know how I can make things better for other viewers!
