Great looking stump knocker guys! Best part is the father and son time well spent. The floor being opened up like it is makes the small boat fish like a big one.Nothing to trip on when you're headed for the net to land the trophy. Could easily be duck hunted from as well. I have converted a 12ftn Klamath V-hull into a bass boat using plywood, and I am more interested in getting a Flat-bottom boat like yours. It looks a-lot more stable than my boat. I really like the way this boat was built , and the materials that you used in building it.

My TTX10 seats two but most of the time it's just me and my 3 rods. I love to fish using my feet to control the motors. There is no boat like it in the world! For a Jon boat you do have a nice set up, though. Great job!

YES! did this years ago with plywood, but I was so proud of the platform! (just starting bass'in). the diamond star is completely awesome. sure it added weight, but the strength? fagetaboutit! WELL DONE! gawd it's nice to have a good dad! I sure miss mine......

Thanks, I have a bass boat and also a 12ft John. The Large mouth and the small mouth state records have come from no wake small city lakes. about 25 years ago I bought a Coleman crawdad> It was the deluxe model with carpet and decent seats but they weren't padded. I put a locater on it, made a live well out of an ice crest, put a trolling motor on the front and wired it with a front plug and a for horce Yamaho, I loved it for small water. As a joke, I used to pull it with a Honda Goldwing sometimes. I was so stupid getting rid of it. I put some money in it but It was a project and lots better than a bass buster. I should scan a picture of it. The coolest part is in the spring we would take it on The illinois river where you couldn't get a full size boat ank kill sand bass, 9white bass and smallies)

The boat has held up great. Other than it being dirty, it's solid. The trailer fenders have not held up. They need to be replaced. That's it!

@bigshawn99tJust saying, It might be easier to leave the original rivets in place and just cut out the seat instead,it would save you from doing the rivet work,plus those 1/4"100ct rivets are like 40 bucks at Grainger.I also removed the seat from my boat 10' sears,added 1"of foam with tape for durability,and tarp for the top,it folds in half and is stored away in two sections floor only weighs 3lbs.Also check out my bowmount conversion,Lot of love for that boat.

Exactly, that's what I meant by "if a cold rivet is good enough, why not?"-- there's no need to go overboard with exotic methods and way more effort than necessary if a simple tool will do the job elegantly. the beauty of this project is your average reasonably-skilled person could do in their garage over a weekend with the sorts of tools most modestly outfitted tinkerers will have available.
