It's hard to believe he never won an olympic medal, he clearly was the best male skater there was for several years with all the world titles he won. He and Scott Hamilton are just in a class all their own, great jumps and a joy to watch.

Watching this again after many years, I have a new appreciation for the great quality of the skating. The jumps were there, but what really impresses is the quality of the skating itself. The edges, the turns, the footwork, all first rate. In contrast to, say, Candeloro, who had okay jumps but mediocre skating skills. Too bad about the short program, because I would have awarded him the bronze for this.

His entry into the salchow combination was creative, as was the split jump entry before another jumping pass.

I agree. Just his posture on simple, back cross-overs is so perfect, as well as his spiral position going in to his flip.

If his short program had been clean, he probably would have walked away with the bronze too. It was definitely a beautiful comeback after such a disappointing short.

Can you believe that he won all the Worlds Championships and always at the Olympics he never got a break on the triple axel? If he had landed the triple axel in the short he would have been the first to win 2 gold medals since Dick Button? It upsets me to this day that whoever was interviewing him asked him how do you feel? He was gracious to her when I would have said how do you expect me to feel?

He came back from 12th in the short program and placed 3rd in the free skate to be 5th overall. It's such a shame that he's never put out 2 hit programs in the Olympics

Kurt approaches his jumps carefully. Not w/the power & speed of some others. But the jumps are usually excellent, and his skating is graceful & expressive.

Saw him skate at skate Canada in 1983 knew even then he was going to be a Champion! What a Canadian treasure!!!

Because of the technicality of his free program, Kurt probably would have placed higher or even gotten the bronze. Falls don't count as much nowadays as they did back in nineties.

I think I would've given that Kurt Browning routine 92-95 for technical. I don't really follow figure skating in depth, though.

Whenever I watched Michelle Kwan I keep getting reminded of Kurt Browning. Always a bridesmaid but never the bride. They've won every single even except the Olympics. With that said, I've always thought of Kurt's performances as boring. When someone like Alexie Urmanov with all his flair performs then Kurt's program is forgettable.
