Operating from Lake Winnebago, which is a sizable body of water east of the Oshkosh Wittman Regional Airport where the EAA Airventure Airshow And Fly-In takes place, this whopper of a water bomber certainly had the crowd spell-bound as it proceeded to do a pass or two as well as a water dump on Friday, July 29th of the AirVenture Airshow... the water dump was used to put out a small pyro-generated fire that they started on the field out near the runways for this demonstration....
This massive floatplane is operated by Coulson Flying Tankers from Sproat Lake near Port Alberni, British Columbia. Payload is 60,000 lbs, 7,200 U.S. gallons, with capability to use both sea and fresh water for dumps.

According to sources, only seven such types were built for the Navy to use during World War II
There was also a slight mishap at EAA Airventure for this beauty...
I would love for them to indeed bring it back next year for sure.
