i do think Kefka is under-rated. Unlike the other villains in FF series, he has no alterior motive other than to destroy. He is solely a pure evil villain. Sephy i think has too much baggage.

Kefka is under rated. Ever since FF7 came out, Sephiroth stole Kefka's spotlight. Sephiroth is better, in my and most of the FF fanbases opinion, but Kefka still put a great mark in Final Fantasy history. I'm just glad you never find any hentai of him and Terra, that would just be mind scarring. *shivers*

I once joked about that, with me (Sephiroth) fighting against my brother David (Kefka). I remarked, "Does the Joker know you're stealing his bit?" To which, he replied, "I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE, HATE YOU!!!"

He become quite popular for all the evil he does in the game. He turns Terra in mindless slave and makes her kill innocent people, poisons a castle's water supply (which also kills a number of his own men), kills a likable character that would have joined you if he lived, and he destroys the world in it's current form, releasing hoards of monsters into the world. Terra, for a time, actually loses her will to fight because of what Kefka does.

So true and it's true for any story. If you end up feeling sorry for the bad guy then that makes the person to bad at all. The makers of FF did a very good job with Kefka, that's why I've been using this character as a study for my own bad guys in the story I'm writing. He is the perfect evil villian.

Well the fact of how dissidia brings the character from different points on their adventure I wouldn't be surprised if she was suppose to come from a point where she just got released from her slave crown and still unsure of herself and her action. To be fair I never complete ff6, meaning to but still it is just my assumption

This is world of balance Terra, she is still very insecure. All the heroes come from some point of their Journey and not from the ending. Clear examples: Cecil (post paladin job) Cloud (post Aerith death and pre Sephiroth defeat) Tidus (pre final boss)

It's green in FFVI, where she first appears, but her original concept art was blonde. Both Kefka's and Terra's appearances in Dissidia were based on their original concept arts. Apparently, several of them appeared differently from their sprites in the game, probably due to limitations. Thinking about it now, Terra's and KEfka's current outfits wouldn't translate well into sprites.

@ChronoTruth007 But he did have a reason, it's just hidden. Think about what he says "Life, dreams, hopes. Where do they come from? And where do they all go?" Kefka is quite literally the saddest kind of person. He's incapable of feeling love or joy. The only joy he finds in life is in pain, that's why he laughs at people who are hurt or dying, it makes him happy. Kefka doesn't comprehend that people don't want to be destroyed, nothing can convince him that he is wrong for hurting people.

@Zeemis Really all we're looking at is different interpretations of someone based on the Japanese dialogue. "Such meaningless things... I'll destroy them all!" vs. "None of that junk is enough to fulfill your heart! DESTRUCTION! Destruction is the only thing that makes life worth living!" In the original game they had limited space, they couldn't put the longer version of what Kefka was meant to say, the Kefka who is sad about having no purpose is closer to the original than the rage filled one.

Kefka is an insane, nihilistic mass murderer. His backstory gives you a basis for his origin, but it never justifies his actions. The greatest villains should never invoke sympathy or understanding. You should hate them, fear them, be repulsed by them, and above all else: you should want to stop them as soon as possible.
