The driver of this Chiltern 168 service was very nice and did not need to do what he did, hats off to the driver, and lets hope that woman learned her lesson about leaving kids unattended on the train

What a terrible mother for leaving her kid on the train. Charges should be pressed against her for child neglect. Hats off to the driver for doing what he did. He could have drove on, but didnt.

I believe the woman was at fault because she should not put the child of hers on the train because she ends up losing her

Surely if the driver couldn't actually see the signal aspect, he should have got out and looked himself? Ah well, at least he'd asked you rather than assumed it was still showing a proceed aspect.

That's not a good enough excuse, what if there had been trespassers or a broken down train ahead? Someone could have been hurt!
@kieranharvey4576 Жыл бұрын
@@PottersVideos2 Once a train has passed a proceed aspect and come to a stop the driver of that train may proceed on the authority of the that signal. It's in the rulebook. Technically he need not ask the camera man, could have just carried on with red ahead in mind, since it was passed at one yellow. If it was me driving, personally I wouldn't have asked, I'd rather assume it is still 1 yellow, as if they said 2 and I still had a red ahead that is on me then. If the signal had turned red it wouldn't have been a SPAD, the driver passed the signal at 1 yellow and then proceeded on the authority of that signal having now passed it. The signaller would in that situation send out a stop message, but it certainly isn't a SPAD risk in any way shape or form. :)

I'm surprised you guys are even considering asking a citizen for advice on what a signal is showing. I appreciate UK signaling is pretty much just red yellow green and it's just one light (I know double yellow exists for the record), but what if they're colourblind? Have malicious intent? Or don't know what to say or are even confusing the signal with something else? It's ludicrous to trust a random person's assessment on what your signal is displaying. In Germany, you're required to see the signal yourself, or if not, a trained member of staff can tell you if it is showing red or *not showing red*, they can't even relay specifics. You're the driver, you have to see the information the signal is displaying.

OK Just a minute. Was a Class 168 Train has a Toilet facility have for something? Or did you not notice early was Daughter on the Train before it leaves but the Mother women caught late on the hurry station barriers is because of that purpose meaning splits in half family ever was? I'm convince to be known. That does not mean interfering Delays have cause unnecessary actions of any unusual for this happen. Never again for late to risk to get on for what-so-ever it was, means the next 30 mins or 1 hour train timetable service could be a problem for others likewise scenarios on the Roads, that wouldn't ever ideal, something like that.

"Is that signal still showing 1 yellow?" 🤣
@EdgyNumber1 Жыл бұрын
If it was showing red after passing - then stopping, it might have risked being classed as a SPAD if he moved off again. If the signal was red whilst still partially at the station he would have to have notified the signaller to clear the signal in order to let him pass properly.
@keironriley Жыл бұрын
@@EdgyNumber1 My comment was more taking aim at the comedy of the question he asked rather than asking for an explanation. I'm well aware of how these incidents work (I've investigated such incidents in previous roles). Worth noting on a serious matter, That the driver shouldn't be even asking such a question to Joe public on the platform. In this situation it is down to the driver themself to visually ascertain the aspect again and if unsure to report to the signaller, Even if it requires leaving the cab to do so before moving again.
