he was making the same things as the guitar players but on the synth. and it has an attack that is not intantaneous. it means that when he play a note the sound goes just like a car aceleration growing progressivly

also the left is deeper (bass) than the right side, as its from low--> high. meaning its harder to hear, but does make an impact when in a band.
