how did this train get from the tracks in route 30 in thorndale to glencrest road in coatesviile ? doesn't the tracks from thorndale go to coatesville then parkesburg ? is there another line this train went on ?

The last clip is on the Wilmington and Northern line which runs under the Coatsville viaduct along the Brandywine. The connection between them branches off north of the main line just before the west side of the viaduct. The train backs down the connecting spur so it can head forward down the W&N.

@@joeynova3550 would you have any more info on this line ? i was looking at a map and it shows the tracks end near lake kurtz ?
@joeynova3550 Жыл бұрын
@@BRIANDER100 The tracks end just north of the Coatesville viaduct, just enough for a train to backup off the main line before heading forward in to Coatesville. The Wilmington and Northern used to run all the way up to Birdsboro. The line currently runs from Coatesville all the way to Wilmington Delaware where interchanges with CSX. About Midway through the Wilmington and Northern line is a connection to the old Pennsylvania Railroad Octoraro branch. East Penn railroad operates most of the Octoraro and Wilmington & Northern line, the Brandywine valley Railroad operates in Coatesville which interchanges with Norfolk Southern.

Hi! love the vid! How do you know when and where the trains pass? Is there anywhere I can find out?

What time does it normally leave Abrams?
@SEPARailfan8 жыл бұрын
Approximate time it leaves is between 8:00AM-8:15AM since SEPTA only gives them a 8:15-8:30 window through Norristown station. They go O/D at 6:30 if that helps.
Can you elaborate a little bit more about this train?? What was it doing on this day? Why does it have a coboose when almost no trains have a caboose anymore???
@SEPARailfan7 жыл бұрын
The Train uses the caboose due to it having to do two "Shoving" moves during its work. By shove I mean the caboose leads the train with the Conductor on it while the Engineer is at the other end in the engines "Shoving" the train in reverse. This train does this work everyday with the Caboose and it only is used just for the shove part and isn't used to for crews to sleep in like most people think.
