Before merger HDFC limited market cap and hdfc bank was 35:65 approx … The growth in hdfc ltd was slower compared to hdfc bank also the PE ratios …. Now after merger, the valuations are getting readjusted simple as that…. The slower growth of HDFC ltd is affecting the faster to slowing growth of HDFC bank….

Forget all this non sense. Mutual funds already much invested in HDFC bank. From December to 10 jan, PMSs and mutual funds again hugely bought it considering mid-small cap will have correction and HDFC bank is large cap, didn't up in couple of yrs and PE was also low. So any FII selling will cause much price correction. LIC bought 30000 crs HDFC bank in last 2 yrs to support the FII selling. If LIC would have not been there, HDFC bank would have been 300-500 who knows. I am more worried about Feb and March end because LIC, EPFO have to sell shares and obviously cannot buy. Who will support the price in March

India is at $4T, and when more formalization of the economy happens and we move to $10T or $15T economy, then someone like HDFC Bank should be able to capture that growth. A good long term steady compounding machine fit for a Core portfolio it seems.
