Call me a weirdo but this is my favorite theme out of the trilogy. I know The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly theme is considered perhaps more iconic and A Fistful of Dollars' theme has that building suspense that's just so classic, but to me I simply love how this theme still feels like a westen but has this almost epic saga feel to it.

The ultimate villain. Lee Van Cleef inspired a lot of actors who took on "the bad guy" role in cinema, and not only the Western genre of television or film. He had such a presence on screen that only someone like Clint Eastwood could evenly match him as the unquestioned protagonist. I agree-Lee Van Cleef left a legacy that will be unmatched.

@JamesSmith-ih2cx
@JamesSmith-ih2cx 4 ай бұрын
@@jonathanorozco8075 Lord of the Rings theatrical edition even blows Star Wars out of the water. SW has a nostalgia to it, but the films, plot, and story aren't all that complex. Now LOTR isn't either, but its world, visuals, and for the most part, loyalty to the books are better than just about everything. I grew up on the SW prequels as well and I even enjoy them. The SW sequels(absolute dogshit minus the throne room fight with some of if not the poorest written characters to ever reach the big box. Also they had no original ideas and totally destroyed all of the original trilogies characters each more spectacularly awful than the last) definitely made the prequels better, but LOTR, though simplistic in good versus evil-not so many grey characters, still has such a magnetude I didn't feel again until infinity war in terms of movie scope. I would put Dollars trilogy after LOTR, though dollars is an orange and SW and LOTR are apples. Granted one is a fuji and one is a granny smith. What I will give you is if redemption is your theme then Star Wars does a better job of that. I would even give you John Williams score is more iconic than Howard Shore's score. Both are phenomenal. Dang all this commenting, now I need to watch all these trilogies again. I owe you for the recommendations. 100 times watching each isnt enough. Well maybe Dark Knight trilogy less, though the Dark Knight, I would argue may be the best sequel in the history of sequels. As a stand alone film I would put DK above all of these trilogies films. Listening to this music gives me chills, reminds me of when I used to watch westerns with my great uncle who is huge western fan, he adored this trilogy and spaghetti westerns, as well as Clint Eastwood and Ennio Morricone's music, I have inherited those tastes, I had the fortune to watch a documentary of his life narrated by him called "Ennio", so great, Lee van Cleef was DOPE in this movie, this trilogy is six decades old and is still popular, I'll give credit to Clint Eastwood still being alive (at the time I write this) as a factor, he's still a living legend. I'm 19 years old (almost 20) and I love these films, I'll hope new generations discover them and enjoy them as well.

Thanks for posting, you did an outstanding job of putting this montage together from beginning to end! There were many great western films made, but after watching the spaghetti westerns, to me, none of them could compare to Sergio Leoni‘s films in terms of style, scope, music, characters, etc.

This was Lee van Cleef's breakout role. After this, he never had to play another minor henchman role again. He was so magnetic and could convey so much with just his eyes and facial expressions before ever saying a word. He was absolutely magnificent. ❤❤❤

Ennio Morricone did many good films, and the acting of Clint Eastwood was excellent, in all those movies. One could actually believe it could have happened. And the musical themes are simply fantastic.

Imagine being someone who was born in the 1870s or 1880s, having lived through the tail end of the Old West era. And then imagine going into a theater and seeing this movie in 1965 well into your eighties and nineties, remembering a time in your youth when a character like The Man with No Name lived in your small frontier town. We don't often think about the extreme transition the world went through at the beginning of the 20th century, but people who were alive during the period depicted in Westerns were seniors in the 50s and 60s when all of these amazing movies came out. Crazy.

Folks Ennio Morricone is no more. He left us July 6, 2020. When Eastwood, the last remaining cowboy is no more, consider the final curtain on a platinum era unparalleled.
