He was a tremendous addition to the 1995 & 1996 NewJersey Devils. He was traded at the beginning of the 1995 season from the Dallas Stars for Corey Millen. And what a trade it was! He finished 2nd in Playoff scoring with 19 pts in 20 games. Behind only Stéphane Richer who had a team high 21 pts in 19 games. Just a great setup man! He centered John MacLean, Claude Lemieux or Stéphane Richer as his wingers. Excellent at face-offs and a very well minded individual.

Fan from the start. Even us Boston kids who loved hockey knew something special when we saw it. I had so much North Stars stuff as a teen. Always caught the North Stars at the Boston Garden when they were in town. Only time I ever rooted against Boston.

One of the most underrated players to ever lace them up. Humble, not a self promoter or looking for glory above others. A true Legend.

I went to North Dakota so I hated him in college but I loved him with the North Stars. Great player and class act.

Underrated defensively as well. Very adept at stealing the puck from opponents.

Always wanted to wear #7 because of him. Great forechecker, power play quarterback, face off man - I don't think there was a part of the game he wasn't excellent at.
