Heavy D? Stole that song from Third World 1979: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWbWcmuNgN2soLM So don't give me the nostalgia about how great music was in the 80s. You couldn't find a singer or musician in the Hip Hop Top 10 in the 80s. All just ripped off samples of REAL hit music from the 70s.

For sure, the first time you heard this song was in 1973, you were 24 years old. The first time you heard the Heavy D version was in 1991 and you were 42, You are now 75 and still living the good life, The world was such a different place in 73 and 91 when compared to 2024 You only needed a halfway decent voice and a good song for a record deal back then, Now you have to blow up on socials before any label will even say hello.

Alex Frazier he was smooth... definitely would have been a bigger sensation in today's age of social media. At the same time, it's nice to know he is a treasure not everyone knows or overplays. It's funny though this song received criticism because the original by Third World was so beloved. In hindsight, this jam is a gem in its own right. Music is Timeless. We can appreciate at first impression or years after it was recorded 😍

This song reminds me of some of the best days of my life. It brings back memories of the summers at the beginning of the 90’s: Nintendo Game Boy and Super Nintendo, Jordan and the Bulls, TMNT, Full House, Family Matters, Super Soakers, Pogo Balls, Nickelodeon, and all the other goodness. It was a great time to be a kid. We miss you Heavy D.

Queen LeLe Heavy D and the Boyz's motto regarding their music was they were not going to curse in their songs. They were a rarity in Hip Hop Music. Heavy D felt it was very unnecessary to use foul language in rap songs. He didn't believe in it and this is why the group's music was admired by all ages of people. Heavy D is tremendously and wholeheartedly missed by everyone who grew up listening to him and the boyz.

@@sladesez1602 Nope. It's all autotune and robot voice over beats stolen from older songs.
@sladesez16024 жыл бұрын
@@misterhat5823 Now I'm not well-versed in modern rap or rap from 10 years ago, it's not really my thing. But having said that, there's plenty of rap and hip-hop artists that rap without autotune or *samples from other songs. Into the Spiderverse has a pretty killer soundtrack, including "What's Up Danger". Eminem is still churning out music, putting out tracks that don't use samples(aside from "Stan") and he's never been one to use autotune. It sounds like you're just stuck in the past, and/or you refuse to seek out new music.

@@misterhat5823 stop listening to billboard top 10 trash then? And btw this song is using a beat stolen from an older song in Now That We Found Love by The O'Jays (1973). The chorus is identical. lol, sit down kiddo.
