HDZero AIO Versus Analog - Practical Range and Penetration Test - Can HDZ Replace Analog??

For me, I saw through the HDZ breakup fine. Analog does tend to hang on longer and experiences a more gradual degradation vs HDZ, but for this HDZ to be half the output power of the analog build and do fine speaks volumes in how far it has come. I still have a few analog rigs, and they are better in certain scenarios, but the crispness of HDZero can't be denied and is my go-to system.

Great video Moe, your give good advice! I have been really enjoying the AIO5 but I think that I am going to be sticking with analog for my freestyle/geurilla whooping exactly because the breakup is easier to fly through.

I would like to see this test done at matching MW. From my experience at 25 and 200 mw levels HDZ is a lot better. Good video, I always enjoy your stuff. 👍

I thought about it but I reasoned it would be a bit disingenuous to put analog at a disadvantage just because HDZ isn’t capable of a higher MW output. Basically, the most each can do. But I agree 25mw HDZ feels more solid than 25mw analog

I like the HDZero sparkles more than the analog video distortion. I liken it to driving on the highway in light rain with RainX on your windshield. I don't have to turn on the wipers, the rain drops are barely interfering (HDZero), then I turn on the wipers and the entire screen gets distorted and you have these two lines that slide across the windshield and half the view is clear and the other half not so much (analog). I'm better off leaving the wipers off until the rain drops get to be too much.

The picture behind the breakup with Hdzero stays clear as with analog it does not. I fly way easier thru breakup with Hdzero than analog.

great comparison! I really struggle to say which I like better. I mean, a sharper image is better. right? 😶 but then it also feels much more clinical to me and soft analog is like a soothing, warm nostalgia blanket. regardless of breakup (in both) I probably like analog better for that vibe reason. sure, I bet you you make hdz look like analog in post, but that defeats the purpose of switching I guess. but yeah... thinking out loud here. and maybe I'll switch some day, idk.

Bricked my HDZ goggles after building 6 quads. Sent goggles in for repair, got them back in a few months and bricked again updating firmware. Got analog goggles, put files on sd card, flashed right away no problem. Take that how you want to.

You mentioned problems with the air 4in1 and 5in1 fcs. What problems did u have? I have 3 in operation right now and cant complain. They are way better than the Super x 5in1 in terms of vtx noise and the output is just phenomenal on "25mw" 😂 Or am i just lucky?

All of mine are in working condition and they are certainly not bad especially for the price but the VTX has been proven to be inconsistent at best. They sometimes will bleed into different channels and output will fluctuate. Not really too big an issue if you’re flying by yourself and having fun. I just went with the 2G4 as it’s been the most solid internal vtx I’ve experienced

@@Monkey_D_Cluffy HDZ fails mostly with penetration - I would say that the reception on 200mw with minimal obstruction is stronger than analog 400mw. I think this video illustrates that to a certain extent. It’s only when we introduce heavy obstruction that the breakup becomes very noticeable. For example, when I circle the house on my 500mw WS kits, I’ll get MB drops and smeary video, but the two way transmission of those digital systems seem to tolerate penetration better. HDZ is only one way like analog

The x12 from HM? Also very good - durable. Although a bit heavier and I’ve found the 5v for the cam to underperform. I asked HM about this and it’s due to its 1-2s capability. 2g4 is better for 1s IMO but x12 certainly not bad and great on 2s

I haven’t my first flown my first analog build yet, but the nano 90 at first glance comparing to runcam nano 4, its basically the same clarity in goggles (made sure video feed was working). You’ll have a more reliable, durable and light quad sticking to analog. If you’re going to have an hd quad, go DJI for max penetration and clarity for situations.
