HDZero Goggles x Analog: Part 1

My initial impressions of using #analog with #hdzero haven't been the best experience. I'm not counting it out yet, so hopefully, things will be improved by the time I return with Part 2. But as it stands #Rapidfire and #HDZero don't exactly get along that well with newer firmware.

Thank you, finally, someone who isn't a fan boy that continues to lie about how good hdz is with analog when, in reality, it is really bad. I've had nothing but issues with my set of hdz goggles with analog.

Hm, this is very interesting. My analog (Rapidfire) is indeed working fine on 9.3.1.. I wouldn't call myself a fanboy and being called a liar just because it happens to work for me tickles me in the wrong way. There are enough people that seem to have this problem and that has to be acknowledged... I own a pair of the very first batch of goggles..maybe that makes a difference? I just don't understand that such issues have to be handled in a toxic way with name calling ("fanboy", "liars") instead of accepting that it works for some and for others not, and actually trying to identify where the reasons and differences lie.

​@@hazzahfpv6675well when everyone gangs up on you in the hdzero group and call us with the problems liars then usually your going to get responses like this. Good for you, you got the first batch that doesn't have this issue. Move on now. This is none of your concern.

yes i use latest 9.3.1 with rapidfire.. the pink screen can be fixed (maybe) with setting your camera and analog setting in your hdz goggles.. mine are PALs then no everytime i turn on no more pink screen.. but yes i still have that problem with whoops.. they are ntsc and somehow i need to switch to PAL then NTSC back and fort inside goggles then re enter the analog feed.. the worst part is i do long range.. and everytime the video feed is low the feeds become distored with black lines.. but it recovers (a bit) fast now.

I have noticed that I've had more cameras than I realized in PAL mode, lol. But those do seem to work better as you've stated. I also learned I missed just how much my Orqas handled all that and never really made a fuss about it.

They did alot of work but still nothing near perfect. And unfortunately I think they have just stopped working on analog all together. Carl has mentioned it being "fixed"

bummer :( I'm hitting the track tomorrow with a buddy who has the Fusion module he's gonna let me try, hoping for something positive on that

I have an AKK VRX..and I couldn't get it to work in any flyable form whatsoever... I now have an speedy bee Vrx, and while better, I find the sharpness way to much with a huge red hue to it that I can't get rid of... While on my mobile Vrx screen it is looking great, and with my old Eachine EV300 goggles it looks great(for analog) aswell, have also tried in a friend's DJI V2 with analog adapter and are better than the HDzero.... Not Good as I really don't like DJI(mainly due to their politics.. have been flying FPV for 10 years-from back in the day of the tricopter with a kk2 board) but right now am feeling a bit distraught as I could have easily have brought a goggles2 and a few 03 AU for the amount I have spent on the HDzero ☹️(also due to a few HDzero vtx not working new kit cables/cameras to test etc...)

it's wild, because there's nothing cheap about HDZero. I kinda wish they would change their messaging on analog to 'kinda sorta works and YMMV'. Really glad I kept my Orqas, I love them now, lol.

that is very strange. I have those goggles with the new firmware Rev 01022024 + Rapidfire and I can confirm that I have 0 problems with this setup so far

NGL, totally jealous. Mind if I ask some probing questions to learn more from you? Do you fly with other people or mostly solo? Race or Freestyle? Change channels often? This is stuff I keep relaying back to help find solutions for others who are having problems like mine.

I want to take the dive into HDzero but as you know I have a habit of exploding my quads. But hell of a write up!

what got me to make the move on my stuff was realizing I didn't fly but just a few of my quads, then I decided to make the move

If I didn't already have a $150 RapidFire module I would, or if I was picking up any new module today to explicitly fly analog with, that would 100% be what I would do.

Can you share the module bay stl? I have the v1.1 bay and fusion does not fit properly.
