He-219 A-7 In War Thunder : A Basic Review

I remember years back when this plane was the ultimate SL grinder. On the Sicily map there were lines of tanks, and everyone took HVAP rounds and just obliterated like 20 tanks in a few seconds. You could make like 100k SL in the first 5 minutes of the match. Good times.

As an interesting little note, the "mk" in mk103, mk108, and other similar German cannons doesn't stand for "mark". It stands for Maschinenkanone or machine cannon!

This got me through so much of the tree, great plane. My genera strategy with it was to take it as 1st spawn in AAB, delete a few people in headons and then when someone with actual brain kills me, I would hop into a tech tree plane to research modifications on it. It's ok in GRB because of Mk 103s but it has no payload at all. Nowadays I don't really use it anymore because I rarely play at its br.

I remember when this plane first came out, and attackers were actually a threat to the enemy team instead of being points pinatas. On maps like el alamein a single HE-219 A-7 could end the game in a single run as all 30 enemy tanks are lined up and spaced apart. That is if you're left alone, as fighters very quickly learnt that you can't ignore these things or the points would be drained very quickly.

Sometimes they still get to shine on the Ebro, Berlin, etc if the enemy team is suppressed or far away.

One tip would be to map your weapons to different buttons so when you are attacking tanks your only using the 103's. That way I am saving my 20mm and 30mm 108s for air targets or SPAA

A quick tip for everyone that has recently bought this, try to engage in only head on engagements and really stick to book and zoom, if you crit a plane then it will most likely limp back to base of fall to the ground, never try to turn around to secure the kill unless it's a very damaged bomber or twin engine fighter

Could you do one on the Night Hellcat? Given it has both air search and air track radar with IFF. Anyways keep up the good work on this, very relaxing and informative

Back when I was about to decide what prop should I get to grind out the German TT, (At that time, Germany didn't even have supersonics yet) i was considering between this and the Ju 288. I considered the He 219 because along time ago, this was the go to grinder because it can mop up a whole Collumn of tanks. But since it was no longer capable of that, I just switched to the Ju 288

The MK in MK 103/108 is not an abbreviation for mark, it's Maschinenkanone i.e. automatic cannon

Can you do a video on the F4U-7? It was the last production Corsair and was used exclusively by the French Navy. It carries a dumb number of SNEB rockets and is the best prop ground pounder in my opinion.

I want this plane for sure, but my personal experience is whenever I play with bigger planes like this one and the Do335 that I tend to get shot down pretty easy. In higher brs especially..5.7 Germany I wouldnt dare play a heavy fighter at that br. Fw190 D13 and 109 K4 serve me well. Plus I hate how the Do335s fly.. Glad I saved my money for the D13, Me 410 B6 R3 is nice tho but its still not as good imo as my D13

It's a shame War Thunder doesn't offer the plane with the original 610 engines. Some of those performance issues might be solved with the more powerful engines.

i honestly want to like this plane but i just cant seem to like cannon cas, ive always been a more high speed pass bomber, or medium alt bomber; on top of my love of the 110g4 over any of the other night fighters

Gaijin won't see this, but ever since the hvap belts got nerfed and had its sp cost increase to high heaven. This plane sucks, german cas sucks compared to really any other nation that has bombs. They nerfed gun cas, but allowed bomb cass to remain a problem i.e revenge bomb.
