Orphen didn't absorb any dragon soul since Azalie in monster form was no dragon but a mere monster. Dragons are god-like creatures with glowing eyes. His parents DID NOT abandon him, they actually died when he was 1 year old. He was born Krylancelo Finland, son to Martha Finlandi and Aterens Finlandi. THEN he was taken in by Raindust orphanage. This information is within the pre-arc light novels, although I'm not 100% sure if it made it to the manga adaptation. The ring doesn't protect the wearer from white magic but from danger, whatever it is. Other than that, nice video.

@@ozzyosborne887 it’s on a fourth now, the studio just never had a break. This series is surprisingly really popular in Japan. It is made up of like 20 light novels plus a 5 or 6 book sequel an original 90’s anime based on the first 2 or 3 books and a video game on PS2. The books themselves play out like an an anime series each book being an “episode” so turning it into an anime really doesn’t do it justice unless you wait and watch it when the final story arc is told as an anime.

Plus despite Azalie looking like what we call a dragon, Dragons in this world are a group of intelligent races that look like mythical beasts from various myths and legends that discovered the “one true law” and made it into sorcery. I’ve read the light novels the anime is based on, sadly the books and anime is filled with tropes and anime cliches that is set in world that has some interesting world building.

You should watch the old series and compare. Imo azalea and orphens drama was watered down too much. The music is in part to blame. If you see orphens first encounter with bloody august(the dragon) you will notice the new show's impact is low for that encounter

I just got done with Is it Wrong to pick up girls in a Dungeon Season 4 where Rabbit's Foot takes down big moss and it gave me goosebumps. There is none of that in this story. It just plods along without capitalizing on moments I we should care about but don't. I would also say that the lead is a bit single dimensional.

Sorry to say it. Dragons while somewhat powerful are not infallible. In a lot of cases they are weak against magic anyway unless if given a resistance hax or are a god like being. No one is off the table when it comes to death in anime.
