He was a liability in that Liverpool team whenever he got isolated. Can't have that Infront of our backline, which is average at best. Maybe against smaller teams which will sit back and defend - not against the better opposition though.

Agreed, VVD makes a world of difference. Guehi, Dunk etc all a level below. Rice probably a level above as CDM protection though.

All depends on how the team is set up. Liverpool’s system was set up to give him freedom to roam forward and cover. England isn’t.
