It's kinda true. I was in a car wreck and about died. Woke up two weeks later next to this kid, same age as me. He looked like me, but his accident caused brain damage (he got bad moonshine) and suddenly, as I heard the doctor tell me I was lucky I didn't end up like him with impact and it was a miracle and suddenly I had an overwhelming sorrow for this kid, I didn't even know. He was robbed of life and friends Like me.. but I could recover... he never would.

Well, they arent friends like we would call friends, they are comrades. In their world friends are completely different. Naruto fought so hard for his friend, or brother Sasuke. He knew even in a perfect would they would never be close or hang out, they would be rivals, like Gai and Kakashi. Gaara to Naruto is a comrade, no words need to be said between them. They feel the same pains and share the same feelings and ambitions, they understand each other. In a world of war, the only relationships are that of war. You either fight or understand the battles each other fight. Naruto was always in Gaara's shoes but had mentors and people to idolize that Gaara didnt. He had Iruka, Teuchi, Jiraiya, and Kakashi and these people grounded Naruto. So for Gaara, Naruto is that, someone to ground him. Their friendship is perfect in my opinion.

Nah Gaara is even closer than a friend he is a family member a big brother. He has faced loneliness ,pain ,betrayal and shame of being the nine jinchuriki all children of the sage. Your brother is not your friend but he is always aware of your trials and cries with you when you're sad and smiles when you laugh for he has no option but to love you for you .

I love how he reminds ppl that if theyve got a problem, he has no problem dealing with that later 😂 "if you're tryin to scrap, we can scrap....just not right now" Gaara is so authentic and loyal fr. He had no problem saying he hated everything and everyone. He has no problem admitting his wrongs. He has no problem admitting his shortcomings, or crediting his transformation to naruto. I respect him bc of all the work he's put into becoming a better person. He was always one of my favorite characters from the very beginning even when he was consumed with hatred, but seeing how he literally turned over a new leaf.... his character development is one of the strongest on the show imo. He went from a weapon of terror to an instrument of peace.
