The entirety of 'The Tribal Chief' character is a trauma response to that chair shot from Seth. After Seth's betrayal, Roman felt the most intense pain he has ever felt in his life. He focused his eyes on the wwe title hoping that the success would heal his pain, but he couldn't handle the backlash of the fans and the pressure of being a people pleaser to Vince and playing "John Cena" for him. He felt hurt, alone, abandoned and he didnt wanna experience this pain ever again. So he did a 180, put the focus on him, and embraced being the top guy without needing the validation from vince or the fans, surrounded himself by people who share the same blood as him so that they never double cross him, after all family will always be there. Although he became a person that doesn't need anyone's approval, he still yearns for that validation he still wants to be "acknowledged." And anytime he sees Seth in that Shield attire, it feels like Seth is mocking Roman's pain and the difficult journey it took him to finally be at the top and accepted. Roman blames Seth for all of the hurt and suffering. So it makes sense when Seth says that he created "The Tribal Chief"

Only lame match was the tag team. The main event was an all-timer. Most reactions I've seen on social media is that this was one of the greatest WMs ever. I wouldn't go that far, but at the very least it's by FAR the best WM in at least 10 years. 8.5/10

The complaining over Roman "not putting people over" is down to two things: Paul Heyman's control over the character's direction and the length of the title reign. When you know Paul Heyman has control over it, it is easy to think Paul and Joe are just being selfish in their booking decisions. And when you have a reign that long, bonking people back down the card kinda becomes the only thing it can do unless someone ends that reign for good. Roman beat everyone during that reign. Not everyone benefitted from feuding with Roman though. I would say the clear successes are Jey and Sami. The rest either remained the same or plonked down. The combination of those two factors might've led people to blame Joe Anoa'i, but ultimately while I had plenty of gripes with this title reign I never thought Ronan was just refusing to put people over.

Honestly, seeing Roman hitting Seth with that chair, leading the Tribal Chief into tunnel vision for the SHIELD breakup, that's when I realized and shouted, "Oh God, Roman's going to lose it!" and it happened, Cody delivers three Cross Rhodes, pins Reigns, finally ending Roman's title reign, leading us to a new era. I have a feeling that even though the Bloodline story is done, I think we will see Roman again soon. Maybe not on this week's Raw or Smackdown, but maybe somewhere down the line.

Jey and Jimmy taking each other out, Solo tries to replicate last year, it fails, Cena comes in to attack the man who took him out. The Rock enters and it's 2012 all over again, then Rollins gets superman punched bc Roman saw red when he heard that theme, then THE GONG, and Rocky it's time to go 1v1 with the Undertaker, chokeslam and then the ending happens. I've had some time to think about it, and I'm coming to the conclusion that if it wasn't a scheduling/travel issue for Austin, then they went with Taker because he could pop in and dip out very quickly, unlike Austin who wouldn't just show up and stun Rock, he's gotta open a can of whoop ass on everyone. That could have easily taken away from the match in a major way because of course those cameras were going to follow him. just a theory though.

It was elite level storytelling. When undertaker took the rock down it was an even contest for roman and cody from there with roman having a chair in his possession. As he was about to hit cody he noticed seth and who could imagine the SHIELD betrayal would come back full circle after 10 years when roman hit seth with a chair on his back, Seth fell to the floor exactly like Roman fell 10 years ago with his neck hitting the bottom most rope. This moment took Roman's focus away from Cody which gave Cody enough buffer to breathe and be ready. Seth broke the SHIELD 10 years ago. He for sure proved to be Cody's SHIELD today and it became the most pivotal point in the whole Avengers Endgame of a wrestling match. Just Perfect❤.

We almost didn't get this beautiful moment had WWE ignored the fans' concern of excluding Cody Rhodes from the main event instead going through with The Rock vs Roman Reigns. I'm glad Cody Rhodes finished the story. Now a new era is upon us and it starts with Cody Rhodes as the new WWE Champion.

Roman's reign was something special to remember and what he gave us forming the Bloodline and aligning himself with Paul Heyman remains one of the best decisions. You look at his evolution from Big Dog to Tribal Chief the man went from one of the most hated babyfaces to one of the most respected heels of our generation. 1316 days, no one will ever beat what Roman did, no one. Cody's story and victory was perfect and The Rock being involved really added a new layer to the feud with Roman. Rock and Roman winning Night 1 left them thinking they had Cody beat but their plan backfired with Cody winning. The story was perfectly done

The finale was great minus two things, no Stone Cold and The Shield music tease. What I would have done is have the glass shatter and as he's walking to the ring Paul Heyman stops him and receives a stunner only to then get hit by Roman Reigns with a Superman Punch. While The Rock sees that, he turns around to a Super Kick by Seth, and Roman then Spears Seth. You have The Rock get up with the belt and take his anger on Seth, and as he stares at Cody Rhodes ready to finish him, you hear the gong. Undertaker appears and Choke Slams The Rock and they disappear. The last three in the ring are Roman, Cody, and Seth. Roman tries to finish Seth Rollins with a final Spear, which he reverses to a Pedigree like in MITB 2016, Cody picks him up for three Cross Rhodes, and pins him 1...2...3! Micheal Cole: "HE DID IT! CODY FINISHES THE STORY!!!!!" Either way the most important thing is that Cody Rhodes is the champion, and we begin a new era!
