I think removing strikes/defends is far more valuable than getting a relic like preserved insect, having more consistent draws is just far better than getting a alright relic. Infact when I'm in a shop i prioritise removing a card almost always before anything else. Also in most cases for me echo form has a very low upgrade priority because when you draw it you usually tend play it even if it means taking damage, it's just too good to pass off in more difficult fights or it's not necessary for that fight. Defrag upgrade and coolheaded are, in my opinion, high priority. Defrag upgrade is double the value literally and coolheaded upgrade is sort of necessary because 1 draw + 1 frost means it just draws itself basically.

@@KGafterdark its a solid relic, but theres a ton of boss relics that can basically set your whole run! And he had poor options besides the boss relic

@@UminokenOshanu Most of them are energy relics with severe downsides that might help you play an extra strike, which doesn't really come close to the utility the passive damage and immediate readiness of dual cast gives. Defect also doesn't really struggle with energy whatsoever out of all the characters (assuming you don't skip turbos like NL does ;-;) Sure it might help a bit in the long run, but what I gathered from beating A20 heart with defect is that you can easily beat Act 3 and act 4 if you survive Act 1 and act 2 (while building and planning with a long term plan) unless of course you get lucky with a hyper beam or edynamics. By act 3 you should already have a bunch of powerful defensive cards like genetic algorithm, upgraded leap, stack, boot sequence, go for the eyes etc. to make act III encounters a cakewalk. I 100% see a case to be made to go for boss relics with the silent and watcher though

For anyone wondering, the current modifies for ascension 9 are: More Elites, Tougher Enemies, Deadlier Elites, Deadlier Bosses, Heal Less After Boss, Start The Run Damaged and now Normal Enemies, Elites and Bosses are all “Tougher” with higher HP and Blocks.

Just did silent ascension 15-19 in the past week When your boss is hexaghost you should consider swapping your starting relic, 4 energy act 1 can really go off in combat and card picking considering you can take 2/3 cost heavy hitters more easily. But if you get cracked crown then I humbly apologize

One tip with enlightenment and snecko. The upgrade to enlightenment says to make things cost 1 this combat, but snecko will randomize the cost of those 1 cost carda all the same. Enlightenment aint a bad take with snecko, but the upgrade is meaningless. Upraded buffer there wouldve carried with an Echo form

On floor 1 your potion chance is 40%, it goes up by 10% whenever you don't get a potion, and down 10% whenever you do. In theory you can keep track of this yourself all the time so that you'd always know your potion chances. In practice, just install a mod.

Definitely would've upgraded the defrag first thing, makes the card double value so it's usually the best upgrade. Plus it's even better when you have a christmas tree build with lots of orbs
