Something I learned long ago. The dishes and laundry will always be there. But ur kids are only little once and for a very short time. Enjoy them while you can!!!! 😉 Kids tend to eat less at school. They're so busy, excited and playing is more important lol

Theo is so cute. An potato or sweet potato mashd an thin it out with his formula the 1st few times an than just give it too him aftr he's had it a few times he'll b fine an go Theo crawl away .... Most stuff u can mash with a fork is good thats what i do e did.. My son really didnt like babyfood.. The fruits an thats it... He was Theos age anything i could mash ...

When my boys were little and especially with the last one, I didn't have money to buy baby food. I cooked up a pot of potatoes, rice, carrots, chicken, split peas (yes it sounds gross but nutritious) depending on what I had, and then put it through the blender. I fed him applesauce and peaches that I had canned. The peaches came about the night before I had him (17 days late at that point) my husband went and picked all the peaches off the tree so I could do something with them as he knew I wouldn't want to after he was born. I had done all the laundry, been to the doc to find out he would induce me the next day, etc. and he brought in the peaches after supper. I'm glad I canned them as he ate them all when he was started eating food. Peaches with rice cereal and applesauce with oat cereal. When you are poor you do what you do. I am astounded at all the things they have for babies that weren't even invented and even if they were, we couldn't afford them.

Perhaps you need to tell them his banana needs cut up in slices. He is such a big eater, the school probably thinks he had enough when he is half done. He also needs his water more than just a sip or two unless you are supplementing his liquids as you have been, but you don't want him going backwards with his drinking. You don't want to be a pill of a mom, but at the same time since Leon can't tell them, you have to. I think you mentioned once that once he is maintaining his oral liquid intake the G-tube can go away. He also may not want to keep eating when the others are done eating and he thinks he might miss out on some fun - which seems like a Leon thing to do. The one thing I noticed, and maybe it is what you left on the videos, Leon seems to be verbalizing more since he started school. Where he use to smile, clap his hands, etc. he seems to be trying to make sounds now. But of course since you don't film his whole day maybe he was doing that anyhow before school started. Theo was too cute when he got himself into the kitchen and that smile on his face showed you he knew what he had done!

School for Leon benefits both the boys, gives Leon social skills & learning, and gives Theo individual time with you guys. I would wonder/worry to if Leon’s lunchbox was still full when it came home too. Does he have days at home where he isn’t hungry at lunch? Or maybe too excited?

I know you feel like Leon is not eating enough. I have worked with special need kids. Leon is use to you and John feeding him. He is getting use to a new environment. ( school) and new people feeding him. He may just be uneasy. Not in a bad way. He has to learn to trust the teacher. Also the teachers have to figure out how that child works. If the child is nonverbal, the teacher has to learn his cues. It’s a process on both parts. It’s an introduction in a new atmosphere. For the both of them. Please be patient and if things don’t change. I would for sure ask questions.

kids when going to school and get comfortable wont always eat much! as they are excited and want to play. also he might see the kids eating different food so he might want theres!!! keeps in mind also that kids act differently around others versus at home with parents. Speaking from 16 years experience as a CDA preschool and after school teacher ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
