It literally only takes ONE, single, well-timed, perfectly placed left hook from Mike, and Jake is drinking every meal of the day for the remainder of his life. That man still possesses some VERY dangerous punching power and his muscle memory alone, can allow him to coast through the first few rounds. When you fight lasting a round at first is kinda hard and feels waaaay longer. So you have to adjust your own power in each punch. So let's say you are doing a 123 jab, straight, hook. A 20 percent jab allows you to react if it's countered, it also allows you to focus on your next. A 30 to 40 on the straight assuming that they blocked. Preventing you from over committing and pushing their guard and Preventing an immediate clinch. Or having just opened their guard. Then a hook at 80 percent to the liver. Kidney if you're south paw. If they move opposite you can end with a hook or straight then uppercut. With the straight being more powerful than the uppercut with 60 to 70 percent comparatively. Lol assuming that you can connect with him during the setup. You can also go jab heavy with wildly varying levels of power behind them making you a threat you're scared to attack due to the fact that they can branch out in so many ways after that contact. Especially if they are a South paw righty.
