I am training to be a midwife and I am currently a doula. Doctors DO push cesarean sections because they can schedule them. I always urge my clients (who want a vaginal delivery) to take the doctors advice but unless there is any distress to mama or baby they can wait out the labouring process. There is nothing wrong with refusing a doctors request, just like Karlee's story with the depo provera shot but obviously it's more comforting to take the medical professionals advice. I also think mamas that have c-sections often don't feel that they have done enough or that they have missed out on an experience with their baby and body but cesareans are beautiful and intense and hard work as well. Don't ever feel that the way your brought your baby into this world is inadequate because a healthy happy baby is the outcome of both processes ❤

girl, don't feel bad about having a c-section. my mom is a labor and delivery nurse who has had four kids and we were all c-sections. i feel like there's such a stigma about them, like it's a failure to have a c-section. it isn't. you are still bringing life into the world, which is a beautiful thing. if it gives you a scar? that scar is beautiful.
