Ren was so young when his illness took over his mind & body. I can’t fathom. In the prime of his life, he was trying to survive everyday. This song gets in my feels as well. He will never get those years back, I would be angry too. All his suffering made him an empathetic man. He is a gift. Thanks for your honesty and a great reaction. Peace.

Everyone suffers, and we never know how much . We hide our pain, not wanting to seem "weak". Ren reminds us that pain is a forge that can make us stronger.

Thing about the Self Harm part, the actual story is far more visceral and intense than he even portrays in the lyrics. He talks about it in his 8 part "Missing" Chapter Series, I highly suggest listening to them, sure it's a deep and painful account, but it also has a certain level of Levity, of course in the style that only Ren can, human, real and raw. This track resonates super hard for me, I suffer from an incurable genetic disease which has a myriad of symptoms, Chronic Pain, Osteo-Arthritis, Neuropathy, etc. Ren has become part of my daily medication, his music has provided me the voice of a kindred spirit and brightens my day with his more fun and inspiring tracks.

Touching reaction. Ren never gave up and essentially found his own answers , what an inspiration. I read he said when he was sick he would fight for awareness if he ever got out of this, and now he is doing just that. There are many videos of him younger and sick, in a organized group talking about people with these conditions and fighting for awareness and hope. Ren deserves all good things.

Thank you for the honest reaction, And same here when he did say the relief of the cold steel. I lost it !! And I felt it was all the pain he was enduring was not visible or from a action. And when he cut his chest it was pain caused by his hand .
