I would argue that this was Kenny's most brutal death in the series. Even though there was no gore, Stan walking in and seeing that empty bed is just so heart-wrenching. It's a brutal reality check on how death will take anyone, and wait for no one. Love the Kenny cosplay, by the way. He'll always be my favorite character.

I can totally sympathize with Stan's POV in this episode. Had a friend come down with leukemia around 5th grade and he passed away in 6th and it was so hard to see him in the state as they tried to fight it and it scared me. My mom had even said she was going to bring me to the hospital that he was being treated at to see him one last time but he passed before that. Great now I've made myself start crying.

It still does for me. Matt and Trey really know how to wrap up serious and real issues surrounded by hysterical nonsense. It’s ironic because back when this came out, people still though it was just a foul mouthed show about nothing. I know they’ve proved themselves way beyond that at this point, but wow. Nobody could ever do it like them. Exhibiting a real and genuine reality that truly hits home, and doing it in a way that fully makes sense, while also addressing another issue that’s massively divisive, and wrapping it up in cartoon humor is only just impressive. I can’t understand how truly amazing this episode is. It made me want to talk to everybody I loved, as a kid, while also being hilarious. No part of it was a joke even though all of it was. That’s why I love this show. Stan’s reaction is so perfectly human. Stem cells are a very real and important discussion. How is it that a show like this could be more powerful than any drama on tv!? And after all these years people still think South Park is just fart jokes. I personally think it’s one of the most truly human shows anybody can watch, even when you have to look beyond how ludicrous it is.

Kenny dies and gets written off the show and is missing for most of season 6. Butters and Tweek becomes Kenny’s replacement and is the official new 4th character. Then the last episode of Season 6, Kenny was brought back due to fans protesting for his return. Kenny was meant to be written off permanently, but the creators realized Kenny was too important for the show. From season 7 and on, Kenny no longer dies in every episode going forward.

So, I'm with McMan here and I had an incident where I sped up and it turned out pretty well. Was on my 23rd birthday and getting home driving down the interstate in the middle of the night. See this deer in the middle green looking at my car and then at the road. I said out loud "You wanna play this game?" Turns out it did. Sped up to bout 90 MPH and rammed straight on with the thing. It literally bounced off my bumper, back into the darkness, with only a cracked fender and the loss of a part on my driver's side that connected to my AC unit, which was a piece of shit anyways. No other damage done to the car, got a "totaled" check for the car that paid off the loan, and it took $2 to fix the fender with some metal strips and a big ass Frankenstein bolt. Granted, I live in a pretty flat area in the sticks, not a mountain pass, but going fast worked wonders for me.

3:35 Devon is actually right here, depending on what car you are in trying to break will result in the cars hood lowering enough that the animal will roll over the hood and into the windshield. A lot of deaths happen that way, moral of the story is slow down if you have enough time to do so, but don't slam on the breaks if you already think you're gonna hit it, because that could just make it worse.

Not sure how accurate it is, but I've been told not try to slow down for deer, especially in a small car. Apparently, when you break it drops your car's front end, and if you hit a deer while your front end is the lowest point of the vehicle, they can end up coming through your windshield.

If you're driving and there's open fields or something beside the road and no other cars to worry about, swerving is the safest idea for both you and the Deer. In the case of something like what was in the episode, don't swerve because you might die, but slow down and hit the brakes as soon as possible for both your and the Deer's safety. Be both safe and moral, really, is the best way to do it and generally they coincide in cases like this. If you speed up to hit the Deer not only is that fucked up and cruel, but you are also in more danger of the Deer impacting the windshield and hitting you, obscuring your vision or just losing control and hitting something. In the case of smaller Animals, don't run those over either, again if it's safe, swerve, if it isn't slow down and brake as soon as possible. Respect and care for all life and beings. If the Animal is injured, take it to the vet, if it is definitely dead, then this will seem crazy, but either leave it where it is or move it to the side of the road ideally or into the grass, so that wildlife can eat it, carrion birds and so on. That way even though it's an awful and sad thing to happen, it can feed the wildlife at least and sort of help the general ecosystem and circle of life. The reason you want to move it is so Animals eating it don't get hit. Ideally take it to a vet if it's still alive or suffering, though, so they can help the Animal or put it down painlessly in the worst cases.

I had to go to one of those driving courses after getting a speeding ticket within some period of time of having just got my license and one of the things the instructor said to do if a deer comes into the middle of the road is to actually speed up and hit the dear. Speeding up causes your car to act like a spatula (front of car lifting off the ground due to the acceleration) and flip the dear over your car, rather than braking. When you brake, the front of your car lowers toward the ground and it acts like a wall is slamming into the deer, causing more damage to your car and the deer. Don't know if that's accurate, and I've never had to put it into practice, but that advice has stuck with me.
