Idk... obviously different people are different so I can't project but my dad did similar stuff to Gohan in the past and even tho he has changed a lot none of our fam can fully relax until he's out of the house at work. Being in the presence of someone who has abused you and traumatized you mentally or physically always puts you in a flight, fight, freeze mode when you're near them bc your body remembers the shit they did even if they haven't done it for years bc you never know when smth triggers a response like that again. The growth that Gohan has showed is commendable tho
