I love Jimmie and Odettas' versions and I like this modern rendition too. Music (all art actually) is not static. There will always be someone who wants to do it a little differently it does not take away from the original. I think Jimmie Driftwood would approve of his music going forward into the 21st century. He was a history teacher after all.
