What’s even scarier about the finances conversation is some women don’t know the totality of what these things costs. They know vacations, housing and cars but forget about retirement, property taxes, 529 plans and all the car repairs. Most women grew up with Disney-based marriages in mind.

Exactly! I dated a woman who would brag about her many international trips a year. I believed she must make a ton of money to afford that life. I was wrong she was in massive debt, had poor credit, no 401k, would rely on others for food, or emergencies. However, on Instagram she appeared to be this jet setting, world traveler, with a luxury lifestyle. It was insanity.

Agreed- Sounds like they don’t know a $200,000 house after 30 years would cost around a million which includes interest to the bank, property tax, PMI, HOA, taxes, insurance, maintenance, cap x expenses, etc. Or their desire for a Tesla is a depreciating asset which may be worth $18,000 after 15 years. But if you invested the same down payment & monthly into an index fund, you would have $322,853 after 15 years. After 25 years, it would be a million. According to the book, Millionaire Next Door(studies behavior of millionaires), the #1 car of millionaires is a used Toyota bought with cash, not Mercedes. Some people are paying $1,200/mo for property tax. Google says the average cost to raise a child until age 18 is $200,000. Some people are paying $1,500/mo for daycare. Some people are investing $800/mo for 529 plans. This is not even including retirement. If you're spending $3,333 per month, you need one million at retirement. Spending $5,000/month, need $1.5 million. Expenses $7,000/month, need $2.1 million. This is based on the 4% rule where you multiply your yearly expenses by 25. If you need a million upon retirement, you withdraw 4% which is $3,333 per month for the rest of your life & never run out of money, even in a market crash. Many Americans that don't come from money are able to become millionaires through their retirement plans. Most people achieve this goal by investing in an index fund through their 401k, Roth IRA, & brokerage account. The National Study of Millionaires found that 8 out of 10 people became millionaires through company's 401K, the largest study conducted by Dave Ramsey.

@@freudianslip2192 I was at a bar like 4 months ago and heard the tender talking about her travels to a regular(unmarried, likely easy to F, 40s mid. She might be a great person, but we all know how birds of a feather), and I was like you probably should be saving that. People are coping hard, and figuring it out later in our society. Men and women. I've never met a travel person that It was anything other than a social flex, not reflective of their financial prowess. Ive been that guy before myself. Youre just being a conversation starter. Your pockets still tight. lmao. Sometimes it FEELS. A lot of women would rather hear how many places you've been, and wild random stories of how a camping trip ended with you surrounded by 10 raccoons, and this time you made it into a blockbuster world premier movie(when you just entered a raffle), then sit across from a guy thats like yeah I work 65 hours a week and try to catch up on sleep on Sundays. Even if you have a plan for working that hard, its not her turn on. Im not on any goofy red pill shit, this is life experience, and its sad. If the roles were reversed, and i had my current mind state. If a woman on a first date was like "I work like 65 hours a week, and try to just rest a lot on sundays, BUT i really like you so i'd like to spend sundays with you, and i have a lot of paid time off that i could use to maybe have a nice friday or saturday to ourselves.", Id think i found a winner. The problem with the "don't talk about money" mindset is that what no one talks about, no one learns about. To quote the writer David Wong, "people consider it so wrong to talk to you that way that they've decided it's better to simply let you keep failing." I was raised not to talk about money - I'm 55 now. When we don't get realistic financial pictures from our parents and our schools, we cleave to unrealistic ones from the media, television, and KZbin, which are all absurdly inflated. I agree that it's rude to flaunt one's wealth, but the irony is that not talking about money honestly actually _encourages_ young people to flaunt. Because none of them know the truth, they can all lie and get away with it, and over time everyone starts to believe the lies. Thus 20-something sitcom characters with humble jobs live in huge apartments and we don't question it. Thus we end up with 22-year-old women who "won't settle for less than six figures" and have no clue that they are consigning themselves to a decade of loneliness. Thus our politicians can manipulate us into resenting other people that we think have more than us. Seriously, I know that mindset comes from a modest, humble, Christian place. But in practice, it's poison. It's tearing at the fabric of our society. It's gotta stop.

It's important to recognize that with every woman now presumed to sexually available and indeed they are, they are now flying blind in terms of being able to differentiate what calibre of man will actually commit to them. I'm sure these same women you speak of have "dated" with 200k men just fine...and so it is the case that they believe they can secure commitment from these men that date them. However, if they can pull it off they would gladly have the 200k man's child then find a commited man willing to raise that child. It's a war of attrition it seems. Starve the bottom 80% of men from relationships until they are desperate enough to date a single mother is the ideal it seems.

It is indeed evidence that some women would rather be alone than lower their standards. But that is exactly what makes the relationship marketplace advantageous for women. Since women are more likely on average to forgo marriage if they can't get what they want there are fewer women to date, and those women can demand a higher-quality man. So, we as men can decide if we want to try and meet the standards or bow out ourselves. I think the reality is that men are much less likely to bow out, so women can date and marry up.

First things first, you don’t get to choose someone that is much more valuable than you. You deserve someone either equal or within a small range above or below you. As a men who earns a high income, I promise that we are looking for the same thing too. The onus to earn a high income works both ways. What we are most concerned with when choosing a partner, is what do women bring to the table? Do you think we work this hard for this much just so we can give it to you? If u think you can just chill while the men provides, you are in for a world of pain. For the men reading this, focus on yourself, build your worth. And your worth is not dependent on the opinions of others.

Yes, men and women are moral equals but not in any other way. Women want men who are older, bigger, stronger, more educated, smarter, more mature, wealthier. Those are reasonable and natural desires, which are wildly inconsistent with feminism. Even feminists are more happily married to men who meet these standards and they willfully submit to these men's leadership. There are studies that find this to be true-for e.g. "What's Love Got to do With It? Equality, Equity, Commitment and Women’s Marital Quality," Steven Nock & Brad Wilcox, *Social Forces,* March 2006, plus my own experience with such women at personal level. But then the man must produce and we need an economy that will supply those opportunities for men.

Thanks for another one of these videos Courtney. They're fascinating, mildly disturbing yet extremely valuable. These young women shouldn't be laughed at - they should be pitied. Their expectations are born of an utterly fictitious vision of the world created by their social media feeds. This means that they will either decide to remain single (there go the kids) or they'll be forced to marry below their expectations/hopes to husbands who will always be thought of as less-than-advertised. The future painted by this video is bleak. But reality needs to be faced head-on regardless of whether it is a depressing one or not.

And in that second category, it ends up as her being unhappy, cheating and divorce. So if you're a dude who gets suckered into that situation, you're just a wallet that she despises and looks down upon. The damage by women's media (not just social media, but daytime talk-shows and magazines too) has truly been done and there's no fixing it. This is a brilliant testimony of the unrealistic expectations of American women. I’m not saying that it’s only American women, but it’s usually more frequent in the US and some other western countries. We live in an affluent area in Europe and my wife seems to think it’s normal to be a millionaire, when it’s less than 1% of the population. Social media are a huge problem in re-enforcing those expectations. Some women also have an overinflated image of themselves and think they “deserve” a millionaire!

Where I live in Tennessee, experienced police, US Marshals, firefighters, teachers, a lot of pilots, and a LOT of managers in many types of careers, dont make NEAR $100k. Most younger guys who make that much here either work in tech or the medical industry, and they likely already have a woman. The guys in tech dont ever really get out for the most part, so you're less likely to find them. The guys in the medical industry work a lot and interact with the public a lot, plus they have a lot of cute co workers, so they probably already have someone. That leaves you with the tiny percent of young business owners or younger guys that found their way to the financial industry or upper management, which there isnt a ton of either.

I have to say, for myself as a man, what makes it so frustrating to hear even the hesitancy on marrying a man who makes less than them is that I seriously do not care how much money they make. If I love them and we have similar values that’s seriously all that matters to me. Regardless of my job if she were a Starbucks barista her entire life and a great person I would happily be her boyfriend. And 104K in my country is more than half the average income ahahahaha I'm literally in the top 10% bracket and I cannot afford any of them... Yes, they are MORE grounded than the previous group, but they're all still trying to get a 250K / year man... They all want the top 3 or 4% of men... The answers are super aspirational with no life experience to temper them. Ask them years later and the answers are a bit more grounded. Similarly, I'd love to hear these ladies thoughts on their aspirations after a bit more life and/or relationship experience. For many men, that life/relationship experience leads to them being very strong about a commitment only to themselves. And that's a very sad thing.

The average American earns $70,000.00 a year. How can a man buy a tesla, a 2000 square foot house, raise 3 kids and a wife, take vacations, save over one million for retirement on $70,000.00? The worst part is that a lot of women wait until they find this rare man that makes over $200,000.00. Suddenly they are 35 and have been losing 1000 eggs a month because although they release one fertile egg they lose 1000 others. At 35 that loss increases. At that point all the good men are gone so they settle for some ugly, broke, loser paying child support to 4 other women. I've seen it so many times. This was a good wake up call.

Women who were dating men in....lets say San Fransico would rightly think there dating pool is going to make more than 49k as a median, as opposed to say Rome Georgia. So just saying only 15% of men will ever make X is a bit misleading, if we only consider the men that these woman might actually date (based on geography) that income bracket might look a good bit different.

*"Settle for less than a millionaire?"* She said that as if there's millionaires casually walking down the street everyday. At the end of the day, most women will either end up alone or "settle" for a guy whose not their ideal guy but in reality he probably makes a great long-term partner and even a husband. Being a man who earns an honest living is perfectly fine yet some of the standards and preferences today are insanely delusional and women who want a millionaire man just like how it sounds more than the reality of it.

Even though I make enough money to comfortably be the sole provider for a family, I want my partner to make some income (maybe 30% as much as me) so that they realize the effort that goes into having a career and so that they value what I contribute. There is still time for you to find someone, you are in a good position now. Just keep making good decisions and looking for the right person. What statistics and averages don't account for is choice. Statistically speaking, if you eat two chikens and I eat zero, on average each of us ate one chicken. But that's not true, our choices were completely different, and that changes everything. When you make the right choice in life and partner, judge them, vet them properly, stand up to yoru values, set boundaries. You increase yoru chances a lot more. Most people can't do that, but you are already aware of the traps of life, and you came out of them, so I'm sure you're ahead. Don't let some average number or some youtube videos make you give up on the life you want.

@richg4011
@richg4011 Жыл бұрын
This isnt a lack of financial education tho. This is a multitude of problems. One is just a culture of non transparent parents with constant CC debt looking like they're living good, and their kids didnt know that from age 10-18 of their lives the parents were stressing over their finances, had a horrible personal relationship, and then theyre confused when they're divorced before they graduate college. Second would just be literally never thinking of this stuff because clearly theyre not on their own, and most people dont. Roommates to split the cost dilute your view of money. Financially supportive parents dilute your view of money. A car you didnt have to buy with your own money, and mad that your monthly payments are so high because youre credit score sucks at your age and no one told you about C scores, dilutes your view of money. And they've literally never even thought about well, just cause he's rich doesnt make me rich. EVEN SHAQ TOLD HIS KIDS IM RICH, YOURE NOT RICH. Some of these girls over the last few months think they're going to have full access to their mans bank account. LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You think even lebron james has his wife having full access and decision making on his hundreds of millions, and that she can just wakeup one day and be like babe im flying to L.A, i just bought a 4 million dollar buggati. No, she can use that 100k limit credit card that someone on his team makes sure is paid every month, and keep it moving. That millionaire girl giggled "thats why im single". You will always be. You're chasing unicorns. I love how magically they all know young millionaires on every episode. Well not all, but at least one. No you dont. If you do, you dont know their finances and theyre probably pump faking. Magically so many women know all these men making 6 figures, multiple 6 figures, 7 figures, and statistically it seems like theyre all running into unicorns. lol. Everyone just wants to be next to money, even if its not real money. Those older women are unfortunately desperate, but they in our culture probably will only get worse. At least if your marks are off in your young 20s someone can be like nah and educate you about life, relationships, money, and you can start to maybe build with someone in those early 20s, and if its what you both want, start a family in your latter 20s when your resume is good, your savings are great, your understanding of each other is immaculate, and your general resources to build and raise a family are great. There is a reason millionaire girl doesnt have a millionaire, but has been "involved" with men who make way less im sure. They(millionaires) dont want you, and theyre not that abundant. When men want women, they go for it. Doesnt matter if youre in a relationship, married, etc.. Well a selective group of men are that confident. I feel for her because shes going to continue to be unfilled and early 30s soon, and she still wont get it. If you were gonna get chosen by a 7 figure guy, it wouldve happened already. Theyre mostly settled down, and the young millionaires will just turn you into a sidepiece or baby moms.

The one girl who said it makes her question the level of education in America that men don't make more money is really off the rails. Not every single person can be a doctor, lawyer, or whatever. @@carontorliak2760Lmao, how does that make sense? 50/50 is still 50% of chores and caring for the kid. As someone that has owned a house for years and that had to take care of my sister’s child multiple nights a week and during the day for like half a year, an additional 25% of chores and childcare is at best maybe a part time job. If you both make 100k, how is that worth her pocketing an additional 75k and you giving everything? And having more time with your own child that you would die for (like my niece) isn’t some form of a chore or “work”. It was one of the most enjoyable times of my life. Ask any decent parent if they would rather spend a Saturday at work or with their children. Putting it in the same group as chores is dumb af and really only a view that a terrible/narcissistic parents have. They’re also completely gone for at least 7 hours a day after the age of 5 which kind of begs the question again of how does that make sense since the load of childcare is significantly reduced? As a 31-year-old individual who has been earning a six-figure income since my late 20s, I have noticed that it is relatively easy to find casual partners when your income is high. However, it is much more difficult to find a suitable long-term partner. I often encounter women who are just like the women in the video - have little income, have probably received a subpar education (with a worthless degree), and possess an average or below average IQ, but still expect to marry someone who is financially successful and elevate them to a lifestyle they could not attain otherwise. In my experience, most individuals in similar circumstances only pursue serious relationships with women who are either equally successful, have ambitious goals, or possess qualities such as intelligence, class, elegance, and physical attractiveness. Finding such a woman is not an easy task, just like finding a good-looking and financially successful man is not easy for women. Do not ask expect a luxury car when you yourself don't have luxury car income.

If they really want such a person of high standard they need to know how to act and how to treat them and bring a true sense of loyalty and care. A high value man would give them the boot real quick if they show any sign of toxicity or negative intentions that can in any way hold you back. That is why I agree they need to be on the same level or atleast truly understand hard work and how difficult it is to get anywhere in this life. None of these lazy lounging couch potatoe parasite hoes allowed in my orbit. Any sense of entitlement or indecency will get ghosted. Been thru too much.
