There is still time for you to find someone, you are in a good position now. Just keep making good decisions and looking for the right person. What statistics and averages don't account for is choice. Statistically speaking, if you eat two chikens and I eat zero, on average each of us ate one chicken. But that's not true, our choices were completely different, and that changes everything. When you make the right choice in life and partner, judge them, vet them properly, stand up to yoru values, set boundaries. You increase yoru chances a lot more. Most people can't do that, but you are already aware of the traps of life, and you came out of them, so I'm sure you're ahead. What’s even scarier about the finances conversation is some women don’t know the totality of what these things costs. They know vacations, housing and cars but forget about retirement, property taxes, 529 plans and all the car repairs. Most women grew up with Disney-based marriages in mind.

However, on Instagram she appeared to be this jet setting, world traveler, with a luxury lifestyle. It was insanity.

Agreed- Sounds like they don’t know a $200,000 house after 30 years would cost around a million which includes interest to the bank, property tax, PMI, HOA, taxes, insurance, maintenance, cap x expenses, etc. Or their desire for a Tesla is a depreciating asset which may be worth $18,000 after 15 years. But if you invested the same down payment & monthly into an index fund, you would have $322,853 after 15 years. After 25 years, it would be a million. According to the book, Millionaire Next Door(studies behavior of millionaires), the #1 car of millionaires is a used Toyota bought with cash, not Mercedes. Some people are paying $1,200/mo for property tax. Google says the average cost to raise a child until age 18 is $200,000. Some people are paying $1,500/mo for daycare. Some people are investing $800/mo for 529 plans. This is not even including retirement. If you're spending $3,333 per month, you need one million at retirement. Spending $5,000/month, need $1.5 million. Expenses $7,000/month, need $2.1 million. This is based on the 4% rule where you multiply your yearly expenses by 25. If you need a million upon retirement, you withdraw 4% which is $3,333 per month for the rest of your life & never run out of money, even in a market crash. Many Americans that don't come from money are able to become millionaires through their retirement plans. Most people achieve this goal by investing in an index fund through their 401k, Roth IRA, & brokerage account. The National Study of Millionaires found that 8 out of 10 people became millionaires through company's 401K, the largest study conducted by Dave Ramsey.

@richg4011 Жыл бұрын
This isnt a lack of financial education tho. This is a multitude of problems. One is just a culture of non transparent parents with constant CC debt looking like they're living good, and their kids didnt know that from age 10-18 of their lives the parents were stressing over their finances, had a horrible personal relationship, and then theyre confused when they're divorced before they graduate college. Second would just be literally never thinking of this stuff because clearly theyre not on their own, and most people dont. Roommates to split the cost dilute your view of money. Financially supportive parents dilute your view of money. A car you didnt have to buy with your own money, and mad that your monthly payments are so high because youre credit score sucks at your age and no one told you about C scores, dilutes your view of money. And they've literally never even thought about well, just cause he's rich doesnt make me rich. EVEN SHAQ TOLD HIS KIDS IM RICH, YOURE NOT RICH. Some of these girls over the last few months think they're going to have full access to their mans bank account. LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You think even lebron james has his wife having full access and decision making on his hundreds of millions, and that she can just wakeup one day and be like babe im flying to L.A, i just bought a 4 million dollar buggati. No, she can use that 100k limit credit card that someone on his team makes sure is paid every month, and keep it moving. That millionaire girl giggled "thats why im single". You will always be. You're chasing unicorns. I love how magically they all know young millionaires on every episode. Well not all, but at least one. No you dont. If you do, you dont know their finances and theyre probably pump faking. Magically so many women know all these men making 6 figures, multiple 6 figures, 7 figures, and statistically it seems like theyre all running into unicorns. lol. Everyone just wants to be next to money, even if its not real money. Those older women are unfortunately desperate, but they in our culture probably will only get worse. At least if your marks are off in your young 20s someone can be like nah and educate you about life, relationships, money, and you can start to maybe build with someone in those early 20s, and if its what you both want, start a family in your latter 20s when your resume is good, your savings are great, your understanding of each other is immaculate, and your general resources to build and raise a family are great. There is a reason millionaire girl doesnt have a millionaire, but has been "involved" with men who make way less im sure. They(millionaires) dont want you, and theyre not that abundant. When men want women, they go for it. Doesnt matter if youre in a relationship, married, etc.. Well a selective group of men are that confident. I feel for her because shes going to continue to be unfilled and early 30s soon, and she still wont get it. If you were gonna get chosen by a 7 figure guy, it wouldve happened already. Theyre mostly settled down, and the young millionaires will just turn you into a sidepiece or baby moms.

As a 31-year-old individual who has been earning a six-figure income since my late 20s, I have noticed that it is relatively easy to find casual partners when your income is high. However, it is much more difficult to find a suitable long-term partner. I often encounter women who are just like the women in the video - have little income, have probably received a subpar education (with a worthless degree), and possess an average or below average IQ, but still expect to marry someone who is financially successful and elevate them to a lifestyle they could not attain otherwise. In my experience, most individuals in similar circumstances only pursue serious relationships with women who are either equally successful, have ambitious goals, or possess qualities such as intelligence, class, elegance, and physical attractiveness. Finding such a woman is not an easy task, just like finding a good-looking and financially successful man is not easy for women. Do not ask expect a luxury car when you yourself don't have luxury car income.

If they really want such a person of high standard they need to know how to act and how to treat them and bring a true sense of loyalty and care. A high value man would give them the boot real quick if they show any sign of toxicity or negative intentions that can in any way hold you back. That is why I agree they need to be on the same level or atleast truly understand hard work and how difficult it is to get anywhere in this life. None of these lazy lounging couch potatoe parasite hoes allowed in my orbit. Any sense of entitlement or indecency will get ghosted. Been thru too much. @@carontorliak2760Lmao, how does that make sense? 50/50 is still 50% of chores and caring for the kid. As someone that has owned a house for years and that had to take care of my sister’s child multiple nights a week and during the day for like half a year, an additional 25% of chores and childcare is at best maybe a part time job. If you both make 100k, how is that worth her pocketing an additional 75k and you giving everything? And having more time with your own child that you would die for (like my niece) isn’t some form of a chore or “work”. It was one of the most enjoyable times of my life. Ask any decent parent if they would rather spend a Saturday at work or with their children. Putting it in the same group as chores is dumb af and really only a view that a terrible/narcissistic parents have. They’re also completely gone for at least 7 hours a day after the age of 5 which kind of begs the question again of how does that make sense since the load of childcare is significantly reduced? The problem with the "don't talk about money" mindset is that what no one talks about, no one learns about. To quote the writer David Wong, "people consider it so wrong to talk to you that way that they've decided it's better to simply let you keep failing." I was raised not to talk about money - I'm 55 now. When we don't get realistic financial pictures from our parents and our schools, we cleave to unrealistic ones from the media, television, and KZbin, which are all absurdly inflated. I agree that it's rude to flaunt one's wealth, but the irony is that not talking about money honestly actually _encourages_ young people to flaunt. Because none of them know the truth, they can all lie and get away with it, and over time everyone starts to believe the lies. Thus 20-something sitcom characters with humble jobs live in huge apartments and we don't question it. Thus we end up with 22-year-old women who "won't settle for less than six figures" and have no clue that they are consigning themselves to a decade of loneliness. Thus our politicians can manipulate us into resenting other people that we think have more than us. Seriously, I know that mindset comes from a modest, humble, Christian place. But in practice, it's poison. It's tearing at the fabric of our society. It's gotta stop.

I was at a bar last month and spoke to a girl who was in her mid 20's. She said she had been casually seeing a guy who is a millionaire. According to her, he ignored her for 3 weeks at one point and she still ended up going back to him. I told her that millionaires have options. If my competition is able to behave like this yet I have to jump through so many hoops to get a girls attention it almost makes me want to throw in the towel. Her friend, who I also spoke to, said that she was sad that the guy she was "seeing" chose someone else over her. Her claim to him was that she had "left her toothbrush" at this guys house. Just like us guys can't reason women into being attracted to us, women should not try to negotiate themselves into a guys life by pathetic stuff like this. If modern women want to be part of Chad's harem, I am not going to stop them... but they should also know that I would be very hesitant to date them when they have hit the wall. It is indeed evidence that some women would rather be alone than lower their standards. But that is exactly what makes the relationship marketplace advantageous for women. Since women are more likely on average to forgo marriage if they can't get what they want there are fewer women to date, and those women can demand a higher-quality man. So, we as men can decide if we want to try and meet the standards or bow out ourselves. I think the reality is that men are much less likely to bow out, so women can date and marry up.

I find it disturbing that lots of people that age don't realise how hard it is to make a living. It seems that these girls have a huge grosery list when it comes to a potential partner, but it seems to lack one very important ingredient more than often: love. Social media has destroyed the actual image and importance of true love. If you love each other for the way you truly are instead of loving someone's length ore bank account, unimaginable things will happen. I have seen it personally with lots of my friends. Two friends of mine: they lived in a house tiny'er than a average bed room, it was about 20 square meters. They both worked their asses off with each other and for each other and after a couple years got married and recently got the most beautiful little girl I have ever seen. They sticked with each other not because of their hotness ore bank account, but because they truly love each other. If someone would ask me: "what would be the ideal income of your partner?". The only correct answer in opinion would be: I don't care, if we truly love each other, than we can always work as a team to make living worthwhile with each other. That's my top thing on my grocery list for a partner: loving each other for who we truly are.

Yes, men and women are moral equals but not in any other way. Women want men who are older, bigger, stronger, more educated, smarter, more mature, wealthier. Those are reasonable and natural desires, which are wildly inconsistent with feminism. Even feminists are more happily married to men who meet these standards and they willfully submit to these men's leadership. There are studies that find this to be true-for e.g. "What's Love Got to do With It? Equality, Equity, Commitment and Women’s Marital Quality," Steven Nock & Brad Wilcox, *Social Forces,* March 2006, plus my own experience with such women at personal level. Hey Courtney! This is another interesting video. It's not just social media driving these expectations. We have very serious economic issues in this country - inflation keeps going up, interest rates and cost of living are all out of control, and yet wages are still pretty steady with where they were 20 years ago. That means, the percentage of people that can maintain a middle class lifestyle is steadily going down. Putting the actual numbers aside, what these women seem to generally want (nice house, nice car, 2-3 kids, yearly vacations) would have been achievable 30 years ago at a more modest income.

Courtney's unpacking in the later half was helpful. I can see why it would awkward to asking pointed personal questions, but you can start to form some outlines on the different backgrounds. Compare the woman who is a pre-school teacher and makes music to the one who is working towards being a psychiatrist. They come from different worlds. The pre-school teacher is most likely coming from a working class background and her answers were by far the most realistic to the median statistics. The psychiatrist mentioned in a previous video that both of her parents were in that field. She's launching forward from an upper-middle class background. I can imagine that the pre-school teacher is open to college or no college education background, whereas the psychiatrist is likely not considering anyone who doesn't have a college degree and a professional background. The classes are in many ways defining access to other people. The psychiatrist, while her expectations on a statistical level seem slim, isn't nearly as slim because those statistics are for the median income. It's more realistic to get the statistics not for the median across all men, as only about 30% of the population has a college degree. The population of men is confined to a smaller pool, but in that pool it is going to have a much higher income median. Further, she is going to have access to these men through her profession, graduate school, professional organizations, and a social network of friends and family that are also upper middle-class. Likewise, for the woman who wants a millionaire, she said she knows millionaires. Having social access to millionaires is not something that is average. She has to have a background that allows for that access. For her to concede to $100k seems appropriate because she is likely surrounded by family and friends that are all in an upper class background. I do agree that social media distorts our expectations of how people live, but since the 80s popular media has broadly scrubbed away a lot of class signals in the shows and movies that are made. Reagan set the tone with his "City on a Hill" view where we mainly focus on an idealized upper middle class lifestyle as the norm in representation. Compare sitcoms like "Good Times" in the 70s to the "Cosby Show" in the 80s to see contrasting examples. So long before social media, we already had a distorting lens being presented on a culture where social classes were largely erased. The reality today is that to hope to have something akin to a middle class lifestyle requires two incomes which approximate about $100,000 per year on average, and far higher if you are living in larger urban areas, and far higher if you want an upper middle class lifestyle as depicted in media (traditional or social). Two partners, making around $50k each is far more the realistic aspiration. This of course precludes being a stay-at-home parent. You have to go back to the 1970s to have a single income household that could afford a family, house, car, and so on for a white family.

I as well, you kind of realize as these shows go on that these women don’t know any better. At this point in our time they are just products of what they’ve been told their whole life, and what they see on social media. Goes for anyone really.

Courtney, you are such a blessing to a proud Daddy of two daughters! Your content is always truthful, thought provoking and very entertaining Those young ladies will find reality a bitter pill to swallow when confronting their future! Please keep preaching the truth and I look forward to future videos! God Bless you in all future endeavors.

Courtney, thanks so much for your channel. Every video is an eye-opener 😳 After losing my wife of 33 years to cancer, it is a shock being single. Your content is very useful in helping me realize that the dating scene is full of unrealistic and unreasonable expectations! Keep up the great work 👍

Sorry to hear about your loss. Based on single guys I know who are older, the pool of dating is really rough. The women who are available at this point either don't want to be married or have a lot of baggage with them.

I think that women that have dated millionaires have shown their hand giving a real example of how hypergamous they really are. It’s a huge gamble at that point and not worth the risk. It’s a pretty harmless question “how successful were your previous partners” and damning at the same time. They will settle then divorce given kids and enough time.

I think the woman who say they’ve dated millionaires are lying
@monkeyhero479 Жыл бұрын
@@tomyoung8563 I don't think they're lying I just think their definition of "dating" is wonky. I'm pretty certain when these women say they've "dated" men in these income ranges they probably were hooking up with some rich dude or went on a couple of expensive dates. Courtney even asks if they were casual relationships and the ones who supposedly had dated these rich dudes answered vaguely in the affirmative.

I would so love to see a couple groups of guys given similar questions (but flipped for ideal woman), just to see if we're generally as out of touch with the real world. *EDIT - Damn, you guys just _went off_ on 'personal characteristic' expectations, when this video was ultimately a build-up to a question of financial education. I had a feeling that younger men these days are probably just as ignorant as young women and expecting they'll all have no problem making $100k by the time they're 30, given how pervasive social media has become. You're all kinda proving my expectations for a generally low IQ.

bro it would be just "i just want someone who has nice smile, isnt bitching 24/7 wants kids sometime down the road and has a fat butt"

It would be cool to see, but most of Courtney's audience is male and her content is catered to men.

@@AK-American I just want an idea of where random men's heads are at, who probably don't spend their days on social media watching all the red pill garbage. It seems like everything's focused on women's unrealistic expectations. I'd like to see some balance.

Can we acknowledge how amazing a job she does getting people to examine their beliefs in a way that’s not judgmental at all? These women are pretty young, and this isn’t something they’ve probably thought much about so let’s not be too hard on them

An OG used to tell me that when he took women out on dates if they happened to ask how much money he made, he’d say “listen honey, that’s not any of your damn business.” 😂😂😂
