In early 1957,the pastor's wife of a new church in Long Beach California known as Bethany Chapel , approached the pulpit and addressed the congregation, Annabelle Schoch then recounted how she was washing dishes at her kitchen sink when the Holy Spirit gave her a song. She then began to sing this chorus. My mother, Elsie Rasmussen, was the organist and picked a suitable key and began to accompany Sister Schoch as she sang. I always encouraged Mother to copyright the music as the arranger but she did not. As a result, this legacy worship chorus has had few credible claims to it's origin. Pastor's wife died that same year (1957) and my Mother passed away seven years ago. Now, I can only personally attest to that Sunday morning. It belongs to the Church for the ages.
