That was most likely a Eviction, Where they get a forcible entry and detainer. The owner hires movers while the Sheriff watches and puts all their stuff on the street. Then they can take what they want while the owner takes possession of the property and changes the locks. Pretty sad but this happens everyday.

I still find it hard to wrap my head around 'trash picking' and getting thanked for it too! Out west, it is so-o-o frowned on that those folks who DO go 'dumpster diving' can get reported for stealing (or vandalizing if damage is done or a mess is made going through the cans.)---Items that won't fit into the city-provided bins, have the choice of hauling their bigger items to the dump themselves, or making a $20 appointment to have the city send out the big truck and two employees to pick up your bigger items.

It was lacking the bar on the bottom to make it a library box. You had to pull the bar all the way out to insert or remove a card so people didn't just run away with them and leave them everywhere. The middle of the box is what puzzled me. No door yet it was empty behind it as he showed. Interesting.
