As a benchmark for a keeper as a whole or for his spread? What's your perspective as a keeper on Ortega vs Ederson?
@larikmustafa20356 ай бұрын
@@grthorn3461 his spread specifically, my thoughts on the ederson ortega debate, personally (a lot of my goalie mates do disagree) i find ortega better, because ederson in terms of distribution is out of this world but ortega isn't bad himself, probably one of the best as well in terms of distribution but he is an exceptional shot stopper, which well is the weakness of ederson, he is no where near elite in terms of making saves

@@larikmustafa2035 the problem with pep is that he likes players that are good with the ball in their feet, and also he prefers sweeper keepers because he has a high line and high pressure, which is why he sold the joe hart for Ederson which is has proven to have the qualities I mentioned. He is though lacking in his ability to stop the ball, which is what man city suffered with for the first few seasons, eventually he improved but I cannot deny the fact that Ortega is a better shot stopper

Seems to have good reactions from close in, and his spread covers a lot of the areas where strikers aim for. I’d say he’s kinda like Neuer or Ter stegen. They are very “late” to spread out when saving and are really good at 1v1s. Another person who is sorta similar is emi Martinez. Ofc I’m talking about that World Cup save in the final seconds. Waiting and waiting and spreading their body out properly. If you somehow mimic what he does you’d probably save a lot of 1v1s. Getting your legs to save is definitely a great skill to have. Also I’m not a goalkeeper, but I’m hoping professional goal keepers wear jockstraps. I could not imagine facing the type of shots they do and then one day a player scuffs a shot but with a lot of power and it just whips right into your crotch.
