Nurses are in high demand, especially an experienced nurse. He could be moving city to city simply saying he moving to the area for family or the climate. Most employers only give duration of the job and don't disclose any disciplinary issues. And he was resigning, not getting fired in most of those.

My nursing class watched this movie, my teacher told me that he got rehired so much because the hospitals didn’t want a bad mark on their record. It was pretty shady in the 80’s (think it’s when this was going on).
